| 139 | Here U Are | Djun | Tibetan fox / puppycat | 🍏 | BL, ROM, College, Slice of Life, dudes are DUDES, Friendship, Str8 2 GeY Pipeline | 1 | An already-out gay upperclassmen accidentally befriends a new freshman who won't talk to anybody. He ends up helping him through a grieving process. And in return, this straight freshman falls in love with him and dismantles all the bad experiences with gay men this character had had. | 10 | Masterpiece. The progression is perfect. The art is perfect. The ending is quite satisfying. The only wobbly bit is the side character stories which come about in the last third or so and can be skimmed as they don't have true conclusions they are just window dressing storylines surrounding the main set. One of the more realistic takes I've seen on the gay community in a BL. They fully weigh the consequences of their actions and what dating means. The characters are really well developed. And I find novelty in the pairing here - The top is inexperienced, gentle and very loving, while the bottom is older, more experienced, and a bit of a firecracker. Not weak by any means, he gets into the most fist fights in the story and acts as a sheltering wing to most of the characters, including his partner, who again, shelters him right back. This mutual protecting and loving behavior is really satisfying to watch. | 2023
| 83 | No Moral | 💥 | BL, ROM, Work, Suspense, Noncon | 2 | A pro-bono and humanitarian-focused attorney is pushed by his sister to join a big-business-focused company. There is moral conflict in the work, and his boss is a "snake in a suit" POS that the novelist keeps trying to convince you is actually not a POS deep down but it doesn't really work. Everything is his way or the highway and unfortunately he starts to get feelings for the humanitarian worker because it's opposite of everything he'd do. But he mostly just terrorizes him because of that. Somehow being terrorized at work by a guy with a phone pole sized stick up his ass is supposed to be sexy. | 2 | The LI is a controlling piece of shit. The story is way too slow. To call it a slow burn implies that the slow part was even enjoyable. It was not. It was full of endless snoozeworthy lawyer jargon and cringe workplace abuse horny. I'm shocked that it's 3 seasons long so far and we haven't even seen a single trial that the MC has participated in. Boring. I only marked it suspense because I start to feel like the LI was basically workplace sexual assault waiting around the corner. The best part about it may be the "sex scenes" which Manta actually clipped out entirely so you'll need to switch to the korean raws to actually see the entirety of the much awaited multi-chapter smutfest ( They made you wait 70+ chapters of bad tension just to see the actual sex scenes ) LI: "I never do anything illegal that could put me in jail" *commits workplace sexual harrassment multiple times* rooight | 11/23/24
| 88 | Cicada Girl | 🌶️ | ROM, Str8, Suspense | 0.5 | Burned by dating men, a woman becomes a sort of private investigator for other women - posing as the girl in which to double-bind them in cheating. She is morbid about how all men are lying cheating trash at their core, and excuses herself from any guilt. However, the man she thinks she needs to rizz at the bar turns out to be mistaken identity - she rizzed a perfectly normal single guy who turns the blind eye at her slut routine and offers her a ride home. She ends up dating this blameless guy while hiding her job as basically a tool of revenge for other women, with the moral struggles it implies | 7 | The art is quite flat and abstract but charming - the pace is very good, kind of a nail biter. I love her boyfriend. I read on to make sure best boy remains safe. The character interactions are fluid and engaging, the conversations feel kind of real. The problem is the chapters become difficult to find ( missing many chapters in the middle ) before it picks up again and I'm not sure why. I'm fairly certain the boyfriend is loosely modeled off of Buddha or a monk or something just in presence/attitude. IDK, heartbreaking when I think about him
| 22 | Lady & Maid | 🍏 | Str8, ROM, Role Reversal | 3 | Inheriting a house full of male Butlers, this bored feral weirdo appoints herself to banging all of them. | 8 | This.. is certainly an outlier. She's proudly in control of all the mischief that happens. Although she may bottom in many of these, she's the controlling party. I don't think I've ever seen a Straight rom before, where the girl wasn't a ninny uwu shaking leaf about getting ploughed. She's a silly monster, an instigator, her character is the same kind of bad that a lusty horny opportunistic boy with a female harem series would be. I have never seen that before. It was based on a visual novel game apparently, which may explain it, as I can see it being like a series of branching dirty user's choice consequences but they're all leading to something wacky and not rapey (for her anyway). The men are passive victims to her wiles.
| 93 | Semantic Error | red coat x black hat | 🌶️ | BL, ROM, College, dudes are DUDES, Str8 2 GeY Pipeline | 2 | A very literal-minded programmer reported everyone on his group project because he had to do the whole thing himself. An art/theater major upperclassmen on the roster came after him for an apology because he had to repeat the semester. Realizing programmer wasn't sorry and didn't even care enough to recognize him, arts major takes it upon himself to make him sorry and burn his name and image into his brain. After much, much effort, he succeeds, but at what cost? He changes gears and instead becomes neutral or helpful. The programmer struggles with the fact that his heavily-structured nature has made him at first averse but then dependant on his presence for comfort. They begin working together to develop a game. Intimacy starts to develop in strange ways differently between the two heavily contrasting but interesting characters. | 9 | This isn't your average enemies to lovers or opposites attract. I find the contrast in these two characters is well defined and well grounded in reality. For example, the author has used, but not explained, that the programmer has autistic tendencies, which support his insistent needs for repetition and structure, his extremely steadfast sense of morality, that he fades into the background, but also his pure and childish joy towards things he likes, which up til now have been non-people. The arts major on the other hand is outgoing, hyper in-tune of design and social cues, organic in his approach to life, has grey changing morality, a bit of a flashbang character. It's fun to see them go at it to understand each other, and meet in the middle. The romance is turbulent but rewarding. You witness change in their character. The only reason this is not a 10 is the ending comes quite quick.
| 125 | Nan Hao & Shang Feng | 🍋 | BL, Str8, School, Funny, dudes are DUDES, Friendship | 0 | Shang has a crush on a girl. She glances a lot at him during class - but it's because she's drawing BL of him and his friend. Much of the time he's trying to get her attention but is none the wiser that she thinks he's gay and he accidentally deepens her conviction sometimes. Nan cockblocks his efforts to get closer to her. And her friend cockblocks Nan. Hilarious school life antics punctuated by occasional imaginitive/fantasy AUs and later on sometimes somewhat serious strips. I marked BL due to the constant presence of unusual gay chicken happening among the friends as well as the girls' outsider thoughts of them. However, there is no gay romance actually occurring. They are just teens being weirdos. | 10 | I'd be hard pressed to find an eastern comedy series as good as this. Top tier humor and execution. Memorable and well developed characters. A strange intersection of shounen-type casting and boyish competitive potty antics but shoujo-like themes with the insistence on gay chicken humor and the presence of fujoshi.
| 37 | Boys Run the Riot | 🍏 | Slice of Life, School, Gender Bender, Friendship | 0 | A high school girl comes to terms with being public about deciding to be a man via her new classmate who is opening an indie etsy-like store for male clothing. He's the first person that accepts him as he is, so he gets bolder. This series is short but a bit of a notable manga to be printed in Japan that talks about trans men experience in the bounds of reality, not fantasy or titilation. The author is trans male so much of this was from experience. | 6 | I thought it was too short when the story was clearly on the rise for more things coming their way. I decently liked it. There were good moments where you felt the character having the grating experience of not being the right gender and also the euphoric experience of being accepted. My only real gripes for the reason I gave a 6 is More More More. I feel like the topic and story had a lot more gasoline left when it ended. How much more powerful would the story have been if it kept going. I think it was an early serious work for this mangaka so I believe they stopped short to catch their breath and do something different.
| 115 | SSS-Class Suicide Hunter aka SSS-Class Revival Hunter | https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2giZrf47Xno | 🍋 | Action, Fantasy, Videogame/Tower/etc, Str8, ROM, Funny, Horror, Suspense, Time Travel | 0 | The world is challenged to complete a multilevel tower dungeon. In his own timeframe, Gongja is pathetic and killed by the current arrogant asshole tower leader. But upon his death he is given the ability to take one ability from his killer - and he manages to take a time travel ability, that lets him resume his life one day before his death. So he kills himself a few thousand times to return to a point in time where he can kill his murderer. After that, it's clear he has a strange relationship with life and death as only a truly dark or disturbed individual could commit suicide that much. However, with a new companion to be his shoulder angel, Gongja slowly and painstakingly learns the value of life and pain. He experiences a lot of first experiences and first emotions as he decides to tackle the tower using his murderer as the working model of who he should not be. Each ~10 levels of the tower are an alternate reality that correspond to a different genre of book - instead of just challenges on their surface, they additionally add to the MC's awareness of how to live. Starting at the bottom - only knowing about death and despair - it's sort of a backwards journey to the top. | 10 | Gongja is Confuscius in Korean. This story is a broadly enjoyable and accessible thriller on its surface. However, the expert writing and layering of meaning embedded in a simple "tower level" story will grab you in a delayed but intense fashion. It's a study of real-world philosophical ideas at its core, hidden in plain sight. The main character is very interesting, a morbid mixture of disturbed and noble, naive but calculating. The way things progress can be very fascinating, you can feel it is building on a certain theme for each set of genre. But it's all very sly under the hood, you don't have to think so much as it just grabs you what it's doing. I could go on and on talking about the writing. This isn't a genre I usually read. This story is just done really, really well. And I would think about it for weeks. I would reread it sometimes.
| 89 | Match Made in Heaven by Chance | 🍏 | Str8, ROM, Slice of Life | 0.5 | A savvy kind of alt-woman enters her early 30s unmarried. She bumps into her childhood dork friend, who is still an extremely awkward uncool dork adult, and they decide to get married if only to simply just marry and get it out of the way and appease her parents. I guess he already always loved her but is socially inept or autistic or something. The story follows her falling in love with him during marriage, as they sort of do the dating phase while married. He turns out to be a diamond in the rough, because he looks like sexual poison on the surface but turns out to be very, very dependable up front and forward. She turns a blind eye to a lot of his goofiness because she starts to see how awesome he really is. After awhile, she seems simply entertained by his idiosyncracies, like how he dresses like a grandpa or something, the marriage just becomes fun for her which was different to all the previous men she had dated. | 5 | It's an interesting setup, decently interesting. He can be a little too sexpoison for me at times but I like that Jia enjoys the ride. This is a rom with little to no tension, it's all about the two facing circumstances together. 6 is passable, I think I rated it lower because it becomes more like episodic after awhile rather than there being an overarching trajectory of where it's going.
| 110 | Company and Private life | cat / tapir | 🍏 | Str8, Role Reversal, Gender Bender, ROM, Work | 0 | Playing their assigned gender roles at work, the two spark friction. Outside of work she's a boyish street goth and he likes to wear wigs and dresses. When they meet on the street, they don't recognize each other, but develop feelings, and begin dating. | 7 | It's honestly quite wholesome how this relationship develops. They accept and enable each other's hidden side. Slowly the realize who they are dating. They get along quite well as their real selves. It's not a full-fledged manga so the updates are very short and episodic like a small webtoon. So waiting for updates can be a slow process. But the art is quality nonetheless.
| 152 | Boy Girlfriend | 🍋 | BL, Gender Bender, ROM, School, College, Str8 2 GeY Pipeline | 1 | An athlete and an emo are friends. On a whim, the athlete convinces the emo to pose as his girlfriend in front of some friends. Then this spirals out of control to keep up the ruse. The emo feels trapped in keeping up this alternate identity he's not interested in - but feelings get more complicated as they begin to seem like they're boyfriend and girlfriend for real sometimes. They both come to the realization of the crush separately. And then the story switches gears. | 9 | Hooo. This one has good pacing and story progress so reading it gets a little addicting. The art style develops so well over time. The characters are quite likeable. I like seeing the characters move through such difficult discovery longing and pining, and confusing their friendship, leaning on each other, and all that. They're both going through it. Their intent slides from jokes to being serious. There is a time skip to advance them to college age where they are a little more mature in how they deal with each other. Over time the story is less about the crossdressing aspect, I believe the writer has made decisions as they worked on the story which I think has worked in its favor, since the story has changed along with the characters.
| 32 | Tokyo Mew Mew Olé! | 🍏 | Action, Shojo, Funny | 0.5 | A reimagining of Tokyo Mew Mew, but with an all-male mew mew cast. | 7 | This is maybe the best "magical boy" series I have read. The bar is low. But this creator surprised me a lot with how funny their writing is. The male costumes are not meant to be a joke ( unlike other magical boy offerings ) they are fashionable and more in line with like boy-band type offerings. They did a good job making the Cat mew mew male lead likeable - he has the most hilarious catchphrase and he is a bit of an attractive himbo. Of the group he is the only one that has physical animal parts ( ears and tail ) which of course lead to awkward and cute animal behavior scenarios with the female lead he has a crush on. In cat mode he gets a little dumb, forward and affectionate.
| 15 | One Piece in Love | 🍏 | Slice of Life, School, Funny, Friendship | 0 | A few kids at a japanese school have the misfortune of being named after One Piece characters. However they discover Usopp, a delusional fan who is really into his name... And makes them form a pirate club. However, the people they find with these "sparkling names" don't really match their given character. For example, Luffy is a cowardly germaphobe. Most of the comedy and plot is driven by Usopp, who insists he is the supporting cast despite being an insane wrecking ball and defacto leader. | 7 | Fucking hilarious. Usopp kills me. Obviously he is the inverse of his character - giant, strong, opposite of a coward. But freaking delusional. Cringe Supreme! I love him. He reminds me of Adam from college. This is like 4chan internet levels of autism in a character. Wack that they make Usopp the best character. Nami and Luffy are cute too, they are sort of the shy polite couple that can't tell each other they actually like each other. Read it if you like One Piece.
| 90 | Devilman Saga | 🌶️ | BL, Action, Science Fiction, Fantasy, Suspense, Gender Bender | 0.5 | A retelling of Devilman in a slightly more modern/futuristic era. The character roles and basic story outline from the 70's original mythos are recognizably maintained, though the events that occur are different. They are working with the government to develop the demon bodies to act as a kind of armor/weapon for the military. Obviously this is a bad idea. | 9 | Though Go Nagai often retells his mythos, I find the way he does it fresh and energizing / builds on his source material as opposed to harvesting from it. It has made the drama more intense in some aspects. In this series, the status of Ryou being hermaphroditic is established, and his advances towards Akira are quite delightfully shocking. Bolder than in previous installments. How dare they make me thirst for that ratty corporate asshole, his demon transformation is kinda hot. That whole sequence kind of a core memory for me ngl My favorite adaptation of the OG Devilman
| 134 | Trash of the Count's Family | 🍏 | Fantasy, Isekai, Friendship, Royalty, """I Know the Plot"" Fuckery" | 0 | Transported into a book he read, he is playing a lout character that nobody likes. He uses his foreknowledge to maintain his lout status while altering the world to be a better place and prevent the events of the book. He ends up taking care of many of the traumatized characters that would have otherwise become heroes or villains. | 7 | Honestly this is one of the best stories using the "fell asleep and woke up in the book i was reading" trope.. The storytelling is decently paced, wholesome, and engaging. His life is just a slow accrual of people with what would have been tragic struggles or fates coming to be enamored with him (platonically) and becoming his lap pets basically. This story is surprisingly very very platonic, it reminds me more of like him being a steward to a big set of tamagotchis. He's kind of a caretaker / sorceror deal. Also, I find his design appealing, fits the bill of unlikable cute fox of a man.
| 77 | What's With This Strange Dream?! | 🍋 | BL, ROM, Funny, Work, Isekai | 2 | A shaman has trained his whole life to take up the family's business - they exorcise demons from people that cause nightmares. However, in order to enter the shamanic state, they must discover their trigger. Unfortunately Shin's trigger turns out to be libido. The new himbo idiot that his family hired for menial jobs seems to do the trick - but he's sooo fluffy and dumb. Watch as the pair have to work together to travel into people's dreams and exorcise the demon - but watch how this himbo fucks it up hilariously or they go off on tangents and just have sex in other people's heads. | 9 | This is probably the funniest plot-focused porn I have read. It's so silly, yet so engaging. Light-hearted yet NSFW rom between these two? It's a simple premise I suppose but the dream travel makes every location and mechanic for the way in which they engage in sex new and a bit creative. From office romance to historical to magic mirror n-somes. AND using dream logic to maximize the hilarity and creativity. WTF. What a funny ride. | 2023
| 5 | Which Do You Prefer? | Office worker girl V Office manager | 🍋 | BL, Str8, ROM, Gender Bender, Role Reversal, Work, Str8 2 GeY Pipeline | 3 | A woman is tired of her uptight boss coming down on her too hard. When she spots him at a local bar during a disguise night - she decides to play a trick on him by seducing him and inviting him to a Dom session. Naive he accepts. However her cover gets blown - and what's more, whenever she OG's she switches genders. Being one of the few people to get her off, she pines to have sex with him again - as a man - to switch back and be able to come back to work. These encounters put the onus on her boss to help her - showing new sides to him she never witnessed. He actually liked her and turns out to be a bit submissive by nature.. But struggles with the idea of her needs | 10 | Short, amazing ride. I feel bad for him. "Life comes at you fast" lololol. He's a good sport for putting up with so much shit. I like that the series shows how the two flag between dominant and submissive roles. Despite the trouble she gives him it's quite cute to see her boss turn around from being strict to being dumbfounded, bashful and supportive. I have never quite seen such verse activity in a Straight Rom and she is a confident lead, also rare. Wish it was longer. | 2022
| 111 | Sincerely: I Became A Duke's Maid | 🍏 | Str8, ROM, Fantasy, Isekai, Royalty, """I Know the Plot"" Fuckery" | 0.5 | "Transported into the book I was reading," she is a lowly maid. However as a reader she was obsessed with a tragic character, a Duke experiencing a cursed illness that has a glancing shot at love before it was taken away from him by the male lead and he dies alone. She desperately wanted to fix the situation. Now as his maid, she takes good care of him - but accidentally manages to thwart the curse, allowing him to lead a normal and successful life. He goes from being a morbid despondent character to a quite happy character enamored with her - though she has reluctance as her love towards him was purely as a reader/caretaker, and she feels he is experiencing puppy love. Given there is an age difference with her being a bit older, she doesn't want to fuck with him. But his persistance and sincerity keep showing up. He gets bolder and more mature in his intentions. | 7 | Probably one of the best straight-up "royalty isekai cuz i read a book" AUs I read. Their relationship development is rather sweet. The age gap is a bit wee-woo in some spots but gets better as both get older. The main problem is the series hits a stride where it's trying to stretch things out more than develop things. I think the Duke is a good character. Sincere, Genuine, a bit naive or innocent. As a child he's petulant and a bit wily for her attention. As an adult it's funny to see that turn into a man's shadow personality, as now he knows how to behave, but pulls a bit of a trick to snag her attention. And it's a side just reserved for her. | 2021
| 531 | Lookism | 🍋 | Action, School | 0 | An overweight unpopular guy gains an ability to "trade places" with a handsome body while his is asleep. When one body is asleep, the other is active. Though it can get quite troublesome hiding his bodies. Hinges on bully retaliation at first, but then humanizing overweight people and the bullied, though it's debatable IMO how successful the attempt is. It features a lot of fighting/delinquent behavior and bullying topics, while attempting to make friends with or repair the less fortunate. However, I'm told after awhile it turns almost completely into gang fighting stuff. | 5 | It's a decent/engaging enough concept I just don't like Korean bullying stories very much. The artist caricatures fat people in sort of an offensive way, though they put in the work later to sort of.. bridge that by making it be that they look like ridiculous blobs of flesh because this is how people view them, but actually they have inner lives or something. But still, I'm not too enamored with the choice as it can come off mean-spirited. // I also think the korean "pretty boy" designer look is stupid to me lol, so it's funny that it's considered such a glow up. I think the characters are reasonably interesting but I'm not totally invested in any one, including the main character. This got a 10~ episode anime adaptation, I reccommend just watching that and seeing what you think. This one is wildly popular despite my panning of it.
| 167 | Yeonwoo's Innocence | 🍋 | Str8, ROM, Role Reversal, School | 0 | A male student who often gets mistaken for a girl has a crush on a popular female student who vibes as tough and confident. They start to date. | 1 | This one is a perennial pick I see from the RR community. However, I think it's dogshit. I realize I just don't like seeing the shaking-like-a-leaf crying/worrying/anxious MC no matter if it's a girl or boy. This anxiety stuff is stretched out waaaaay too long, meaningless confusions abound since the female LI is cool and confident so she doesn't make whatever things clear enough for him. Then there's a mean-spirited someone-or-other just out to bully whomever for reasons idk korea. Too much whining and feet dragging.
| 36 | Love Gym | 🍏 | BL, ROM, dudes are DUDES | 0 | Fat dude joins a gym to lose weight, favorites one of the coaches. They get closer. Turns out fat guy is rich. yada yada. | 4 | I don't remember what happened anymore to be honest. I didn't hate it but completely forgot about the contents after I caught up.
| 80 | Viewer's Choice | 🌶️ | Str8, ROM | 0 | A girl who still hasn't dated anybody applies to be a contestant on a dating show. Her childhood crush so happens to be the director. He blackmails his friend to join the roster. Therafter she goes through elimination rounds with a set of men until she is left with her chosen. | 2 | Hate her. Poor writing. The elimination / dating rounds lack the real setup and spice that they should have for this type of storytelling. Also, her crush was overwritten to be an obscenely awful asshole, like suspension of disbelief broken it was so bad and didn't make sense. The one she actually loves was obvious from the beginning, as he was the only one who wasn't a massive chode, and the story highlighted him from the start to have a sympathetic backstory. An elimination game type story shouldn't be that predictable and flat.
| 52 | Academy’s Genius Swordmaster | 🍏 | Str8, ROM, Action, Fantasy, Time Travel, Reincarnation, """I Know the Plot"" Fuckery" | 0 | Dude dies in battle as the last standing with his female commander. Goes back in time when he was 10 to start over, this time remembering all his training. Ends up getting closer to his Commander but when she was not as sure of herself. He was traumatized by their death and wants to make sure it doesn't happen again. Also he's just really really good at swords. | 5 | I liked it decently enough but looks like I got bored and stopped reading. Lots o fantasy sword academy stuff. Some magic.
| 7 | The Djinn | human / genie | 🌶️ | Str8, ROM, Action, Fantasy, Suspense, Horror, Historical/Biographical, Gender Bender, Friendship, BL, Furry | 1 | A young roman boy finds a magic lamp and is given 3 wishes. The Djinn complies. The wishes ARE what he wanted, but he becomes increasingly disturbed by them and his fake experiences, and inability to separate what was real or fake, including his relationship to the Djinn as a non-human entity who has befriended him and become what he wanted but not out of sincerity. For the Djinn truly wants freedom, and is struggling against why it owes mortals these wishes in the bitter hopes of freedom only for them to be selfish about them and not free them as they were promised over and over. You said you'd be my friend! I thought maybe you'd be the one! What more do you want from me?!? | 10 | One of the best things I've read in a long time. Short and sweet, deadly, suspense ridden, lovely. The art is monochromatic with a color or two, and so beautiful, mimicking roman and indian artwork. Very memorable. Unforgettable for me. I don't actually like genie stories because the "watch what you wish for" is a tired trope. However, these are so surprising, dramatic and complex, with a strong bit of historical grounding, and the confusion of friendship or romance, it's so different and fresh I also found it interesting to explore the relationship with a non-human being, because they're going through the motions as an expert shapeshifter, but mimicking sincerity, it means nothing to them just trying to make the other happy. And true love is.. Understanding they're different, and that actually, this can be hurtful, for both. It's not intended but reminds me a bit of trying to have a relationship with an asexual. They can do it for you, but it does nothing for them. So don't blame them for your hurt feelings.
| 77 | Shutline | 💥 | BL, ROM, dudes are DUDES, Action, Crime | 2 | A street mechanic gets caught up with a yakuza, who ends up keeping him around for services and sexual stuff. But now he's caught up in crime stuff. | 2 | This one gets recc'd a lot in BL circles so I tried it. I hate it though. It's just forcible relationships with little feeling, just stress and shit because yakuza crime lifestyle. I tried to read far enough to see what people are talking about or if it gets any better and from where I read it doesn't. Gave it a 2 because it's still memorable, like it's got enough to make it stand out a little bit but otherwise just seemed like one of those dreadful sex drama things.
| 79 | Wolf in the House | wolf shapeshifter / human | 🍋 | BL, ROM, dudes are DUDES, Slice of Life, Furry | 0.5 | Dude adopts a husky that turns out to be a werewolf which returns to human form at night. | 3 | Idk. I appreciated the somewhat indie-looking coloring, but this story is all premise and no writing really, it ambles and meanders. I don't know what it's trying to do. The dog character is kind of annoying I thought.
| 67 | Killing Stalking | ☠️ | BL, Suspense, Horror, Gender Bender, Noncon, Crime | 2 | Gay peeping tom scrub gets caught up in a murderer's web by accidentally witnessing murderer doing some killing, but he ends up being the only victim the killer has dragged in and spared. He endures torture and witnesses him kill other people. Killer realizes this victim's gay and maybe gets off of being attracted to by this guy, he dresses him in women's clothing and mocked/ridiculed and initiates relationship-like behavior. This victim ends up being the "comfort" victim. There is a little stockholm and confusion as he witnesses the killer go through weird emotions and tries to appease him in this weird sort of fake killer/victim relationship. Never knowing what the next day holds. | 6 | Sigh, well, it was a well written ride. It did its job. It kept you in suspense and nail biting, not know what was in store. The emotions the killer went through were believably batshit as you might expect of a killer, maybe it was somewhat researched. Certainly memorable, atleast. This is not a typical BL. There is no love here, not even noncon love. Well, there is stockholm syndrome and what is basically "stimming" for this murderer, to have sex or torture or fuck with him as a self soothing tactic. It can be deduced the Killer is likely not Gay or Bi, and he says as much, but his victim is the blindspot he won't acknowledge, it's more like a comfort or feeling of power. My only gripe was the ending. ( and well, the premise at times being quite harsh ). I felt starkly that it should have ended a different, specific way. I felt it was leading up to what I had in mind, but it chose a less satisfying conclusion in my opinion. So I was left feeling disappointed for a few days. EDIT: adding this as a **rec** read due to its broad ability to elicit strong feelings in readers, it's like the inevitablity of the *nazi* insult being used eventually in a YT comment thread. Except it's in BL spaces, and it's about whether or not it deserves the BL categorization, and whether you're a monster for reading it or liking it. So read it for the discourse maybe, it's like the drama surrounding a banned book
| 58 | Twittering Birds Never Fly. | 💥 | BL, ROM, dudes are DUDES, Action, Suspense, Crime, Josei | 2 | Yakuza gets a new bodyguard. The Yakuza has been a bit of a cumslut to get what he wants and a bit of a masochist. Bodyguard though, is loyal quiet and obedient, ends up helping him a bit. They grow closer in frigid, masculine awkward ways, due to the nature of the work, restraining from feelings and hiding them in favor of numbness and masochistic behavior. But they are feeling some things. | 6 | I like the slow burn way they get accustomed to each other's presence, the story really builds on.. Who they are, how they work. It's not easy reaching the point where the boss allows himself to depend on his bodyguard or show a shred of vulnerability. But once it starts, sort of an unspoken feature of their relationship. I personally like the role-reversal relationship of an underling being the dom to the leader. It's sweet in all the versions I've seen of that. However, I don't dig frigid crime love very much. It's just too cold and many times it's about the sex/getting off to release tension. Love and emotions can be quite scarce. I think the restrained and expounding nature of the writing is good though. Like a seinen or josei.
| 69 | The World as Seen By The Pizza Delivery Man aka Pizza Delivery Guy and the Golden Palace | | BL, ROM | 0.5 | Pizza delivery guy trying to work off family debt. Rich kid with a social disorder or something. Kid realizes he's not so afraid of the pizza man. They grow close. | 4 | IDK I barely remember anything but adding it to my list. I think I fizzled out. However this one gets name dropped a ton. It's why I read it, but I don't know why. Seems par for the course generic to me. The general consensus is much higher than my opinion.
| 69 | The Invincible Princess Is Bored Again Today | | Str8, ROM, Action, Fantasy, Gender Bender, Royalty, Reincarnation | 0 | Famous sword dude reincarnated as a princess girl thing. | 5 | I don't remember much. Maybe a bit funny maybe flimsy. Typical korean webtoon royalty tropes. At some point it really doesn't matter that her past life was a boy, whatever. stupid premise. I must have liked it enough to read most of the chapters though.
| 107 | The Crow's Prince aka Of all things, I became a Crow | 🍏 | Str8, ROM, Fantasy, Furry, Reincarnation | 0 | Girl is reincarnated in an otome game as a crow. Befriends the crown prince. Then they figure out she can turn into a real girl with a magic amulet or something. Obviously she has feelings for him. | 2 | I remember the art being good, though langeuring on little plot or forward motion. The premise is nice, but fell off on what exactly they'll do with it.
| 66 | Our Youth | 🌶️ | BL, ROM, School, College, Friendship | 1 | A model student accidentally witnesses the classroom bully get beat up by his dad. Reluctant to get involved, but the bully sort of makes it so by threatening to blackmail if he tells anybody, and keeps a close tab on him. However, this just makes them grow uneasily close, as like friends. But sorta not? He ends up offering to shelter him at his house. He thinks he's annoying/impinging, but starts to grow fond of his random presence. They start to fool around accidentally. | 6 | It's decent. I was not as fond of how much of a blank slate holdout the model student was. And felt the bully was a bit too forthcoming. But it was okay. The reluctance to help was actually kind of bizarre given how badly he was getting beaten sometimes. Was surprised MC would nope out and see the consequences of his noping without a palpable bit of guilt. He wasn't really up to snuff as a shelter character imo. His femmy ness also struck me as weird like it didn't quite fit for me but idk. The timeskip was bittersweet. I'm not sure how I feel about the ending. It turns out okay but I expected a bit more.
| 77 | Killer Crush | 🍏 | BL, ROM, dudes are DUDES, Action, Suspense, Crime, Funny | 1 | A romance actor sees a particularly cold-blooded looking guy on the street and follows him/stakes him out in order to train on a new role for Noir. This man is an undercover hitman though, assuming normal jobs just to stake out hits. They awkwardly get to know each other. After awhile, they realize separately this fascination/presence is turning into a crush. But Killer can't divulge about himself, and Actor is undercover to not be recognized and feels embarrassed about his initial reason for getting to know him. A lot of hilarious interactions - Killer tries to make him disinterested by being cold and weird, which only makes the fluffy actor more enamored. Both just blushing bitches at some point. | 8 | This one's good at staging funny circumstances and goes at a good enough pace. The drama was decent, cute lovey scenes, wack dark criminal activity. These two were memorable and I liked them. Both are quite built but I found who was the top was surprising lol.
| 69 | High Clear | red panda / penguin | 🍏 | BL, ROM, dudes are DUDES, College, Sports | 2 | A fiery overthinking tae kwon do guy has a crush on a cool and collected badminton player at his college. They start dating Can Badminton make me as unreasonably ripped as that guy? | 6 | Well the setup and their physique is kind of ridiculous given their sports and age (Absolutely jacked badminton player?). The characters were a bit troublesome to really really like, but it was a novel mixture of character/personality. It kept you guessing a bit, because the big guy is the bottom turns out. For what it's worth, the sex scenes are particularly good - I'm not a connoisseur, but they were well done / satisfying in the sequence of foreplay or sex or whatever. Idk how you rate that. Wasn't just jabbing pickles. They were sensual and nice.
| 52 | Honey Bear | | BL, ROM, Work | 1 | A beefy himbo befriends an effeminate bakery owner. Ends up working there part time. He discovers he's gay and bakery owner already liked him but figured he was straight so there was some fiddle faddling but then they get reaaaal personal. | 3 | This one gets name dropped a lot so I started to read. Eh I don't like it. I just find the character's personalities offputting like too tropey and then it's just kinda lusty. Also I don't really get into very femmey gay bottom LIs because it just gets too woman-like with extra steps. Bakery shit is too cute. Also hate his weird little lusty chihuahua.
| 54 | Did It Work | 💥 | BL, ROM, Crime, Noncon | 3 | Shamanic dude can have premonitions but only when he's turned on/has sex. Assaults a guy at a casino just for a quick "i need to know fortune real quick" thing but turns out to be a yakuza that tracks him down. Although, he explains the predicament and then he gets used by the Yakuza to sort of farm out predictions. | 5 | The sex scenes are a little funny because it gets increasingly weirder how to get him off.. Like.. Neither of them really wanted the sex but they're trying to facillitate it for the answers.. Awkward.. Kinda funny? But also weird like, you'd want them to sorta want it or enjoy it. I think they do later? Also I'm just not into deep crime and sex that is a bit non-conny or just not the result of real feelings you know. I think it comes about later but it smacks more of "weird situation but we gotta do it" vibes. The LI increasingly has to try harder w/ new techniques to make him org hence the awkward but growing intimacy to all of it
| 27 | From Today On, I'm a Boy | 🍏 | Str8, ROM, School, Friendship, Gender Bender | 0 | Girl and her best buddy make a bet - she'll enter HS as a boy and if nobody notices she's a girl until graduation she wins. Friends slowly start to surround her that are in on it. | 7 | The drawing style is more on the amateur side but the story is decently good. I like the MC - she's posing as a boy, her attitude is deadpan cool and indifferent but noble very much like the Ouran Host Club MC. The surrounding cast are quite likable. She's strong and take-no-shit, is never really shown as a victim, and stands up for herself quite often, so this rating might be a bit high from the novelty
| 60 | The Thorn That Pierces Me | 🍏 | Str8, ROM, Fantasy, Isekai | 0 | Girl gets transported to a fantasy realm where there are zombies and she can't speak the language. A knight dude saves her and they have *moments* growing closer without language for a bit until she can talk a little and then it ends. | 2 | It was good-ish until it just flat-out ended abruptly and then the whole thing felt like a waste. Honestly there was little writing going on. The character dynamics were okay but could tell it was fantasy bullshit that was going nowhere
| 134 | Sadistic Beauty | 💥 | Str8, ROM, Noncon | 2 | "The lives of two men are thrown into chaos when the sexy Chun Duna returns to town. On one end is student Woo Haesol whose timid nature reveals a man just begging to be dominated. On the other is Professor Byun Minho, a male chauvinist who bitterly views Duna as his mortal enemy. Tempers flare as pain turns into pleasure under the watchful eye of a sadistic beauty." | 1 | This one gets reccommended a lot for "strong female lead" or something. She's a monster. She just gets bored and tortures men around her into batshit BDSM stuff. Do not reccommend. Not into mean-spirited shit.
| 27 | Cipher | 🍋 | Str8, BL, ROM, Slice of Life, School, College, Friendship | 0.5 | In America - A pair of twins go to school, little do people know they've been trading places posing as each other as they please. Anise is the first person that figures it out and can tell them apart. This sets off a chain reaction where the brothers are no longer the closest person to each other. They finally start developing away from each other into completely separate beings with a lot of loves and life hardships as the book expand and expands on where their life choices take them. | 9 | I love this one so much, and it's clear the author poured her love into it - because she kept evolving the story with the characters, it doesn't stay stationary on one conflict. You watch the characters grow and breath and face new problems far away from when they started. It's also heartening to see how much of an american weeb the author is. It's weird to see an american setting written about with such love. The romances ebb and flow pretty fluidly between straight and gay ones, it's never a plot point like it's not the focus, the focus is moreso their development and emerging sense of identity
| 1 | Claudine | Ryoko Ikeda | 🌶️ | GL, ROM, Gender Bender, Slice of Life, Historical/Biographical | 0.5 | One Shot. Claudine from birth was convinced she was a man. She lived like a man, did everything as well as a man, but kept encountering pushback from those who might understand her or love her. She experiences fleeting loves and happiness The story is bookended with psychologist visits, which further outline this dreary sense of misplacement and misunderstanding. | 10 | Yeah Idk this one shot is beautiful and tragic it just stays in my brain so much. I don't really read GL but this one is more about her crusade to be masculine and how it hurts. A strong recc from an era where pronouns and trans identities didn't have a word, but here it is. Ryoko Ikeda ( author of Rose of Versailles ) did a lot of masculine women heroes and pretty much championed the theme in the 70s. I wish I could know more about her, though mangaka don't typically divulge personal details. I would wager she has personal feelings in this.
| 71 | A Hunter’s Courtship Method | 🍏 | Str8, ROM, Fantasy, Role Reversal | 0.5 | Sturdy hunter lady lets a handsome knight stay/recoop at her lodge with her. She's the dom/lead in this case | 3 | It was really good - the way they grew close over time in her hunter's cottage - until they had to ruin it by making up a fake conflict to keep them apart for like 9 billion chapters, then have her come to the castle or something to dress as a princess a bit, talk about losing your target audience. Fuck off with that
| 197 | Emperor And The Female Knight | 🍋 | Str8, ROM, Fantasy, Action, Royalty, Role Reversal | 0 | Badass lady knight rises up the ranks and ends up becoming a close confident of the emperor; they ride together into battles. However shit goes nowhere to an embarrassing degree. | 1 | It was good for a long while, but they reached a point where the story hangs and artificial distance is created for a billion chapters - it's clear they are each other's soulmate but due to ~circumstances~ they never own up to it. To the point where he just starts having babies with his concubines. Where the fuck do you go with a romance story when you've cucked the MC so far away from the LI he's having relationships with other women that she literally has to serve lol I FUCKING HATE THIS SERIES it gets mentioned often in the RR circle but what a tinfoil wrapped turd that awaits
| 115 | Please Take Care of Me in This Life as Well | 🍋 | Str8, ROM, Reincarnation | 0 | Reincarnation yada yada i remember you from my last life lets date but slow burn the fuck out of this and make it weird and also forget where we're going with this | 2 | Shit goes nowhere i dont even want to waste describing
| 95 | Totem's Realm | 🌶️ | Str8, ROM, Fantasy, Isekai | 1 | Office worker lady isekai's to a jungle where tribal people live, gets ooga booga'd by a tarzan guy | 3 | I mean the setting is sorta unique, but there's only so much to be done with this before it just gets kinda weird and fucked up. He's fucking massive and she's a waif. Gets kinda king kong up here in this bitch. All want a piece of that white ass
| 36 | Prince Cinderella | 🍏 | BL, Str8, ROM, School, Gender Bender | 0 | Every 12 hours the MC's body changes sex. And her crush doesn't talk to her in her female body/she's embarrassed anyways he wouldn't accept her. So she tries to befriend him as a man first while unrecognizable. But he starts falling in love with the male version of her instead. | 6 | I remember it being a decent enough and quick ride. Ending comes a bit quick.
| 38 | My Girfrleind is a Real Man | 🍏 | BL, ROM, Slice of Life, Gender Bender | 0 | Girlfriend magically transforms into a boy, so boyfriend must cope and readjust. Then boyfriend's playboy male friend starts crushing on her/him. | 3 | I give it props that the GF takes to the new role immediately. I should have marked this "Funny" because it intends to be funny but it's really not, just kinda animoo lame laughs based on the no-homo. The art is wobbly, the writing is almost not there and becomes episodic fast. Everything is quite predictable. And it's clear the intent is to keep this series chaste and not let them actually kiss or anything like that just to keep up the comedy. Too many fourth-wall breaks also indicate low confidence of an author in the material. So I say no. Scanlation drops off after 38 idk where else to find continuation.
| 168 | Salt Friend | 🍋 | BL, ROM, School, Slice of Life | 0 | A little blonde punk whom people perceive as a bully is just an idiot and the cool popular stoic guy figures it out by accident and fake-blackmails him into receiving tutoring sessions from him since his grades are so low. | 6 | Great art style/design. This series' chapters are quite short and episodic in length but chronological. It's decent/not bad I just don't care for shortform episodic flow much. The content of the story is typical slowburn shounen-ai. Familiar tropes that are neither annoying nor exciting. It ends suddenly at 168 I think they stopped scanlating it, there is certainly more.
| 12 | There is no future in this love aka Kono Koi ni Mirai wa Nai | 🌶️ | ROM, Slice of Life, Gender Bender, Josei | 0.5 | Guy secretly longs to be a woman and tries on women's clothes in secret. He struggles with being closeted and dysmorphic, and in love with his best friend. The more he dips in the more he can't go back. | 7 | A murky josei of complicated self discovery and social implications. Short, bitter, wishful. A trans character at the end has some parting words that stuck with me. I saw someone say online that it was not trans validating or something because they talk about these characters reaching for the unobtainable ( a whole real cis body ) and never truly achieving their desire in all facets of life, and I just think they missed the nuance, that trans life is harder because you're trying to reach for bars that other people were already born with, and to some people you never quite reach the bar. "But why should I stop? So what if I can't be the best? I still have to do this." Something like that. I still think about it in regards to things I wanted to be when I grew up/what I want to do with my adult life.
| 130 | Finding Camellia | | ROM, Fantasy, Gender Bender, Royalty | 0 | "Her life was nothing but lies. Camellia was just 12 when she was taken away from her mother in the slums and forced to live as the son of an aristocratic family. But under the layers of secrets and lies, she never forgets. She continues to struggle to be her true self again, to reclaim the life of Camellia." | 2 | HAVE THEY FUCKING FOUND HER YET
| 25 | A Werewolf Boy | werewolf x~ human | 🍏 | Str8, ROM, Slice of Life, Furry, Action | 0 | "After her family moves to an old home in the country side to care for her illness, Sun-yi Kim discovers a boy in the barn. The boy is dirty, wild, and can’t even speak, but Sun-yi’s mother takes him in until the police can find a place that will keep him. Though wary at first, Sun-yi begins to warm up to the strange, dog-like boy..." | 8 | Non-verbal, feral boy with a good heart. This story is briskly-paced and sweet. Classic werewolf/supernatural love interest plotline done well. It's based on a korean movie, which I watched - beat for beat it is the same, but I think the comic did this material better being that it involves supernatural elements. The fact that it's based on a movie script makes the plot feel very tight and cinematic. High quality backgrounds, above average character shading. Clearly some love was put into this.
| 43 | Rejoice In Your Enemies aka You've crossed the line | 🍋 | BL, ROM, School, Friendship, dudes are DUDES | 0.5 | Shen transfers in and Ren takes an immediate dislike to him based on looks and desk proximity to his crush, starts picking on him. Shen doesn't understand why he's being targeted but doesn't bother thinking about it much. But when Ren uses him to pass notes to his crush, Shen mistakes them as meant for him, making him interpret the bullying as shyness. Therafter, every attempt by Ren to irritate him backfires in humorous ways and makes them actually grow closer. Shen is closeted gay and secretly welcomes the attention, but knows Ren is straight - until it seems Ren is paying less attention to his crush and more to him. | 7 | Haha okay, Chinese webtoons are built different. Such a painterly/design quality to them, high quality. Tastes asian but the settings and vibes are somehow closer to American than Japanese or Korean fare. Countryside school vibes, kids seem more ethnically varied and less respectful rofl. I love the subtle humor playing on inbetween these two like a tom & jerry routine, but the more they bicker ( and the pattern always runs one-way - dunking tom ) they nevertheless are grinning and winking along knowing it's getting weirder. The highest quality rendering and backgrounds and just *polish* in general I've probably seen in a webtoon. But it's not trash like factory-line high quality, you can tell there was someone who understood a little design in this. I like the amount of layering and smoking they do, and always excellent colors. Some design motifs are a bit overused like the foliage framing but only I'd notice something like that. The story is definitely not poop writing so the high quality rendering feels more genuine / not that factory-crap webtoon aesthetic that other "high quality" looking webtoons often feel like. This is more robust, full-bodied art soup here. The story quality is above average for the genre but not high marks - there are recognizable tropes here, it is just going well overall and the characters are somewhat memorable/likeable. UPDATE: They're doing some time-skip office side story or something idk if it's real or not and beginning to lose interest knocked it down to 7 | 11/29/24
| 31 | Reversed Love Route | 🍏 | Str8, ROM, Slice of Life, School, Funny | 0 | A boy overhears a girl will "only date with marriage in mind" while turning down a classmate, so he goes ahead and blurts out "will you marry me?" starting an awkward chain of events "I didn't mean to say it like that" and so on as these two stumble into liking each other. He's clueless and airheaded and reads BL and she has bad taste in food is the mom friend and believes in fortune telling a bit too much. | 6 | Unassuming on its surface, this rom story is unexpectedly funny in its approach and takes a meandering road through silly interplays between the dating leads. The type of comedy with derping on both sides keeps the story fresher in contrast to other Rom series. I like that both are unusual but well-meaning people stumbling through the getting-to-know-you phase. Scanlations have stopped for some time.
| 114 | It’s Time to Change the Genre AKA The Villainess Flips the Script | 🍏 | Str8, ROM, Fantasy, Isekai, Royalty, Reincarnation, """I Know the Plot"" Fuckery" | 0 | Reincarnated as the abusive aunt of a bastard child. She makes sure he makes it to the Dukedom etc and then she romances his Uncle who tragicly died in the original script. | 4 | I was braindead so i needed something. This is the most talk-intensive webtoon I have ever read. Nearly every scene last several chapters and it consists of people sitting around talking. The royal family tree is detailed enough where it has some... credibility as a royalty story... sort of. The slow burn courtship reminds me of Pride & Prejudice but in a bad way. Woe is this amazing bachelor who will not marry a woman. But showers her with gifts. etc. There were only two scenes in which they kiss or have that sort of contact which is pretty damn stingy! Made me sleep on them a bit. I disliked that the way the isekai reincarnation went about was basically retconned at the end with new information. "It was a side effect of the magic" that she thought she was from another world in the first place??? Yeah author gave up on that plot thread. As a "Villainess" entry, this is laughable!!!!! She has nothing to answer for [as her previous persona] because she leaves home in the first 3 chapters so nobody knew her in the rest of the story = meeting new person. She's a sweet and meek person. Plus, her previous incarnation was exonerated at the end as a relatably grieving single mother and not some sort of villain. Overall, I don't hate it. The pacing was really long... But consistent. The art was decent. Nothing really stands out about these characters or the writing except that it wasn't hateable. I would say, serviceable without any imagination. The message is decent as the characters grow to see other characters in a new light and that words or actions of love can be misinterpreted. I don't think the MC particularly grows though, besides being more forward to instigate the plot I guess. | 1/27/29
| 58 | How I Attended an All-Guy's Mixer | 🍏 | BL, Str8, ROM, dudes are DUDES, Slice of Life, School, Funny, Gender Bender, Role Reversal | 0 | 3 normal guys end up at a mixer with 3 cross-dressing girls. Initially shocked by meeting men, they realize they are women and end up having a good time and staying touch, and all begin dating. They all have a different reaction and desires and dynamics in their relationship which is fun to follow ( all 6 of them ). | 9 | Honestly the best FtoM type gender bender romance I have read so far. They are all comfortable in their skin as cross-dressers ( no secret whining to be a woman or anything ) I suppose you can compare it to Ouran Host Club in that they are all comfortable like Haruhi, but working at a cross-dressing male-presenting cafe, they also all assume a masculine role-type. However it's not as goofy as Ouran - the slice-of-life shows through in that it is grounded and not so fantastical about the lives they lead and the roles they play. However they are all quite fleshed out different personalities that act and react in their own way to situations. The story follows the pairs in this friend group as they gradually grow closer in dating with their partners. The scenarios and antics are quite funny and cute, but they always have an edge of slice of life realism. It is not fantasy world romance rules. They are to be as real people going through it. Which is much appreciated in a genre sodden with soggy-ass tropes and ecchi brainrot. Oh yeah, there's no ecchi, or nsfw - but it's by far not shoujo-prudish ( as seen by the Fujo's R-18 comic lifestyle ) it just has class. GIRLS The "Prince" - master of the dazzle, commanding attention - surprisingly hobby-less and service oriented. The cool guy - had to practice having a cool and cold attitude - but has endured womanhood as not the one people saw as desirable due to height/features. Being desired is an adjustment. The fujo - impenatrable, perverted and calculating - domineering but a bit blind to her own romance BOYS typical straight - here nor there, moderate, medium paced romance. Has some trouble balancing his gf's night-and-day social sides, and learning what she's really like. shy-and-bi - struggles the most in confidence and struggles with the situation making him think he is bi but is one of the most outwardly flushed and attracted to his girl - loves both sides of her. straightforward submissive fluffy guy - he doesn't care! He's all in, every consideration is an easy one for him - he enjoys being her dog. His girl is the same in and out of character. He's dedicated to helping her with her hobby.
| The Guy She Was Interested in Wasn't a Guy at All | 🍏 | GL, ROM, Slice of Life, Gender Bender | 0 | Fashion girl falls in love with the goth-y guy that works at the CD shop. Turns out to be a girl. And a classmate that dresses really differently. | 4 | It's a decent uncommon premise, but I'm not into GL and the stilted nature of the short slice-of-life episodes is too choppy for me to get into I do like the characters. I think it's well put together. The 4 is just my disintersted towards abbreviated slice of life girl dating | 2/5/25
| 7 | Villain | 🍏 | Str8, ROM, Gender Bender, Role Reversal, Slice of Life, School | 0 | A gay boy keeps avoiding home to hang out with a particularly prickly punk guy whom he has a crush on, though discovers he's actually a gender bending girl/transman. S/he gives him the courage to come out of the closet to his family and live honestly, and also broach his feelings for her/him. | 6 | This pairing is really cute, and I like the rare novelty of FtoM characters. It did feel a bit fresh to pair a gay boy with a trans man as these 2 themes usually don't mix in manga. And then chance a romance between them like that. However, I feel the writing is written in sharpie almost for younger audiences because it relies on tropes quite heavily. The topic of coming out is serious, but I was a bit taken out of immersion by the girl/transman(it's not super defined) having like an over-the-top shounen fight with another boy over their gender sexuality etc. I'm cool with that sort of thing but I felt fantasy-level kid aggression harms the premise of real-talk. And other things, just yeah, the kid's shy, the dad's a dick worried about appearances, today's lesson is to be true to yourself. I require a deeper amount of realism and introspection to appreciate titles who want to tackle identity but show up in cheap modern anime tropes. But I'm probably just fucking old.
| 102 | Spinach Bouquet | Black Cat / Fox | 🍋 | BL, ROM, Slice of Life, School | 0.5 | Guy from Seoul moves to countryside, pries into the life of a loner gay guy who has sordid partner history and issues. They catch feels for each other and determined to stay by each other's side. | 5 | This was another one that I read blind because I hear it recommended so dang much. "Season 1" was good, with a decent courtship process leading to many good feels-y moments. However, Season 2 and onwards had a lot of unecessary misunderstandings and setbacks which made me fall out of love with the duo for awhile. They're okay. I feel like it survives more on unnecessary misunderstanding conflict more than their ability to grow/face new challenges and have palpable gains from said challenges. They're cute together, I don't hate it. Just want a heavier emphasis on the gains side of the relationship. The ending is a whiplash of death flaggy hospital drama and timeskips which I don't like, makes for an uneasy stretch to the end when I think a series should be consummating the relationship harder instead of interrupting it more. This series has one of the most unlikable "bully" characters to stir shit and I feel he makes the story worse as he's a little closeted gay atrocity that starts getting really annoying but by the end he's somehow fixed but wasn't very satisfactory. Since it all happened offscreen and you're supposed to just accept him now as part of the friend group, like nah, he did enough damage, you either need to show the redemption or fuck off. The series has a habit of introducing major conflicts but then sort of forget they existed/forget to clearly resolve them, so it's kind of weird when one thing is a huge problem and suddenly it starts to not be a consideration anymore for the remainder of the serial. In that way I think the emotional rollercoaster rides seem a bit meaningless sometimes because things will be fraught with tension and then ope doesn't matter anymore. Whatever, on to the next conflict. By the end, the significance of the projects/initiatives the characters were working on was pretty severely understated. Which results in a wobbly narrative that isn't very fun to remember imo. The good things about this series - the top/bottom stuff is really murky, as they tend to verse at each other, but by the very end it becomes clear which "role" is which, HOWEVER, their personalities don't really match their assumed role, as older guy mister charmer initiator is technically the sub while shy crybaby is technically the dom. But he pines to be said he's loved so idk. I attempted to label this as dudes are DUDES, but I decided not to. While there isn't an overly effeminate/female insert in the pairing, I feel their personalities aren't describing a male condition either, nor do they come into meaningful conflict with any sort of masculine issues. So in my opinion, these characters are blank slates that just so happen to be male. I'd venture to say both of them veer towards whimsical BL femininity with the frequent show of feelings. It flirted with the idea of discussing parental abuse, grooming, explaining homosexuality and death to a child, but chickened out. Lame. | 4/27/25
| 98 | Define the Relationship | tiger or black dog / black rabbit | 🍋 | BL, ROM, dudes are DUDES, OMEGAVERSE | 2 | Alpha can't cum from regular sex like with omegas ROFLs so his doctor tells him he's too stressed and should date another Alpha as therapy. Friends with benefits quickly turns into love for both of them. | 6 | I don't like Omegaverse, but I seen this one name dropped a lot so I tried it. The Omegaverse part of it is not overbearing, thankfully. It's already the best I've read of that genre. I think the most surprising part for me is that it's basically porn that turns into a rom plot, which is a little backwards so that's fun, AND, it's two Alphas, so in a weird BL way, it's kinda double-gay. Gay on the surface but then also, Alphas don't go with Alphas, so there's another layer of Gay like "nobody does this what am I doing why do I love an Alpha." the couple is moderately endearing, they have some synergy. My largest gripe is the MC's inability to express anything, like his thoughts, so a lot of the conversations are half of him replying with his thoughts but not actually saying anything. And because of this they have problems and it's harder for mister 2-word-answers to feel like they are properly connecting like emotional people instead of blushing and fucking and inside thoughts. For a bara-y BL though, they are more romantic than most. The top isn't an overbearing dom. I'm surprised the bottom is characterized as submissive as he is for an Alpha. But whatevs. | 4/30/25
| 49 | Playtime with Hakdo | Young brat ~ Slightly older softer TA | 🌶️ | BL, ROM, dudes are DUDES, Slice of Life, College, Work, Josei, Age gap | 2 | 2 guys who discover they share a few exes decide to start a friends with benefits. On the side they are overcoming old crushes/flings and making more room for each other. | 4 | These two have nothing in common, and it feels like they use sex to forge closeness with each other. Like if the sex didn't exist, they wouldn't get along. The characters seem fine with that, but I find it a bit depressing. Even one of the characters remarks they don't believe they'll ever be able to feel love like they did years ago, but this is working sooo. They do eventually fully love and accept each other, they say so in simple sentence. But I didn't feel that they really were a complete match, they just any-port-in-the-storm chose each other due to habitually seeing each other, not having any synergy. Very Josei in that bleak and lesson-less sort of adult existence. It does follow a slice-of-life beat about college TA stuff that really falls to the bg. Has a positive ending. The best part about this series/the reason to read it is that they are a moderately realistic gay and verse couple. The lack of feeling or planning in these sexual attentions are likewise probably realistic for gay hookup culture but also makes the romance part devoid/not very interesting. 62 | 10 | Pink Heart Jam | guitarist / guitarist | 🍏 | BL, ROM, dudes are DUDES, Slice of Life, College, Work | 2 | A freshman college student questioning he's bi ends up at a soap shop at the urging of friends, where he finds a classmate he already thought was hot is working there. After his soap session he comes back a few more times hoping to grow closer to him but can't help feeling like a customer. Eventually opportunities arise in which they can work together outside of the shop and begin to trust each other. | 8 | Wonderful romantic story progression. UNIQUE (power) bottom. This character is a trope-breaking uke. Stoic, experienced, tough and beautiful kind of hot. Guitar player. Short and fulfilling story, there are no real unecessary setbacks or filler due to its short length I really liked the emphasis on unique foreplay with the soap shop since it is quite sensual and embarrassing, putting the questioning/learning top in the submissive role for quite some time. | 5/3/25
| 92 | Thirst | human x dhampir | 🍋 | BL, ROM, dudes are DUDES, Action, Work | 3 | A dhampir celebrity gets dangerously close to an undercover vampire hunter celebrity. They accidentally get bound together (vampire bond hijinks) and fall in love while trying to protect the other from certain fates. | 3 | This was recc'd several times so I read it. the beginning is really stupid and long, you have to read until maybe chapter 20 before any real relationship starts kicking off. The plot is so generic and stupid. Vampire stuff is boring IMO and I HATE celebrity stories. The characters are quite horny etc it's pretty typical smut. The setting is modern; the fantasy or scifi worldbuilding is nonexistent it's just trope 100% no explanation so that's why I am not marking this Fantasy or scifi. It's just a lot of bleak vamp celeb drama. The main positive reason to read this series is they are switch/verse. Although the dhampir bottoms more often than not, they do switch. Using vampire lore they are equally intoxicated by each other and that's about it. There is little blood drinking actually, it's just obsession and a few evil organization goons out to spoil their happiness via kill all vampires and manipulation etc I dropped this because it got too stupid near the end with a random rival love interest. And they're just vamp fucking so I'm not really internalizing that their attraction is real. | 5/5/25
| 132 | Painter of the Night | peasant / noble | ☠️ | BL, Noncon, Royalty, Historical/Biographical | 3 | A cruel noble into MxM can't easily get turned on unless he looks at porn art. He finds the painter who made his favorite porn and takes him captive to make paintings for him. The guy is just a kid, whom he frequently abuses and rapes, and jealous other servants beat him, to the point of broken bones. Somehow, women readers think this is teh hottest. | 1 | People won't shut up about this one, so I decided to try it. ( Assume a popular rating of 10 ) Wow, JFC, what is wrong with people. This is non-stop non-con and beatings with a constantly crying and whimpering ML. This is sad. And it's generic, I can't see really what new things it's bringing to the table - it's just your typical cruel selfish master running this kid ragged almost to death several times just for his pleasure, messing with his head. And the kid's got stockholm for him. That's just typical black flag shit. Towards the 70s the noble gets glimmers of humanity here or there when he decides to be nice, but honestly, how could you like him or feel sympathy for him after all the things he had done to this kid.Yet, panning to the comments, oodles of women losing their juices over the noble like he's hot or something. He's a colossal piece of shit prick. Everyone in this story is cruel and miserable bags of crap, aside for this woefully ignorant piece of meat victim ML. Wow, fun. | 5/13/25
| 80 | Taming the Tiger | peasant Tiger x [NA] noble | 🌶️ | BL, Royalty, Historical/Biographical | 3 | A noble takes in a gigantic wambo butcher and then proceeds to whore him out. | 3 | Highly rated, but looks like just another power imbalance noble bullshit story to me. The relationship between asshole noble and wambo butcher seems to be less antagonistic, but eh it's still master-servant trope for the sake of wanton sex and I'm over it. I want reciprocal mutual relationships without power imbalances. | 5/14/25
| 34 | My Purrfect Boss! | [NA] x Literal Catboy boss | 🍏 | BL, ROM, Work, Furry | 2 | A golden retriever personality young guy new hire figures out his new boss is a literal catboy | 6 | - retroactive review - This was cute but short. I remember liking it. The art style is pretty samesy so you wouldn't get a vibe from it about age diff if there is any ( I think the top is younger but you know i dont remember everyone looks webtoon young ). The cat part was kinda cute. There is frequent sex but it is lighthearted green flag stuff.
| 83 | Punch Drunk Love | [NA] x robot | 🍋 | BL, ROM, Work, Funny | 2 | A nerdy af guy who is into BDSM BL stuff has a huge crush on the confident, cheery, social butterfly HR guy. He then learns by accident that HR guy has a slutty dark side, and tries to convince him to have sex with him. HR guy wants him off his back so decides to go extra rough, which only excites the nerd. The sometimes sex buddies gradually turn into partners. | 4 | The nerd being quietly more strong and resilient than the troubled top is kinda neat. Also his sorta eager fujoshi-like horniness for him is kinda cute at times. A lil annoying at others. The constant troubled state of the top's mind over the relationship didn't make me very confident in the relationship. Although I think it's cute and lighthearted, I wasn't totally invested in this pairup dynamic, some of it being miscommunication, some being trying to change each other, some being uncertainty of the top, some being how horny they feel about each other but at the expense of sort of just. Being in a relationship, you know. Every thing they do feels like a distraction pretense to getting into the sack again. But the top seems to constantly check himself if he really likes this guy or if he's just falling into a pattern he can't stop and is putting up with. The bottom is not really affected by this, but that's because he's god-levels of ADHD and imperceptive/begs his way through any problems anyways. I think it runs a little long for what it's doing. Later chapters I started running low on investment since the subplot about the workers trying to make mundane HR complaints about the nerd was getting very slow and boring. The promise to quit and work under his boyfriend didn't sit well with me either because I live in the real world and that is just the most unstable idea. | 5/14/25
| 6 | Kinda Wolf / Aimai na Wolf | [NA] x Wolf | 🍏 | BL, ROM, College, Friendship, Furry | 1 | A beef with apartment noise levels turns into a friendship and then a romance between a quiet gay man and a boisterous wolf boy. | 6 | Cute short read. I felt it implied there would be more smex with the intro but it was surprisingly more chaste and sweet how they build a friendship and then a relationship. The old ogre in me was surprised that I wished for more smut.
| 6 | Kuroki Kemono wa ai ni Otsu / The Black Beast's Descent Into Love | [NA] x cat?dog? human hybrid | 🍏 | BL, ROM, Fantasy, Furry | 2 | Set in some fantasy Arabia, a robin-hood-esque character saves a human-animal hybrid from a slave auction. They plan to free him but teh animal heat sex happens | 6 | Wow I really love the world building. // Maybe it's because it's like one of my short stories. I really appreciate the visual aesthetic ( reminds me of older 90s stuff with arabic panasche ) but also great art and details, and then even though it's only 6 chapters they took the time to explain his race and his world etc. Soooo.. When the cut from him being a fully fleshed character to TEH HEAT and ohegao face jumping bones, I was like ah gaddammit. What the fuck. You had it so good right there. And then you go and make it weird. Now you have a modified human race that was created for pleasure and rape, and now they live free, and now you're rationalizing how the character who doesn't want to become a sex object is now flung into doing just that - but it's okay, because he really cares. HE CARES MOM YOU WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND he's one of the good ones It's too close to feminine rape fantasy. Get outta here. Rating it higher because goddamn it the art and world building was good.
| 130 | The Shape of Sympathy | brat student x unconfident teacher | 🌶️ | BL, ROM, Slice of Life, School, College, Work, Suspense, Age gap | 1 | College student has a crush on his adoptive sister and hates her wedding. He runs into his old high school teacher drunk crying at her wedding because it turns out he was in love with the groom. He blackout drunk kisses the kid while saying the groom's name. Kid continues to pester and irk his old teach to figure out if it's a sham wedding. They end up in a comfort/refuge relationship as both are angsting over lost loves. | 3 | Top is a young brat, he is difficult to like. The first 2/3 of the main story you feel sorry for his teach. Then you finally see the relationship get positive! Yay! A little late but now we're getting somewhere! Then the ending throws a yandere hairpin turn where you hate him again. And even other characters feel sorry for him. It doesn't really resolve Yuri's issues, and the series ends as if it's all okay and they're weathering a needy dysfunctional relationship because they need each other. Uneasy relationship. Other readers are saying too how it made them feel tense and unable to relax. Yuri is frequently criticized - he's not "BAD", but he's got a lot of childish features and aggression which don't totally get sorted out. It would have been nice if his maturity through the final third could hold to the end. But the lil crazy 8 conflict they had ruined it for me, where he turns into a total psycho for a duration that doesn't resolve they just handwave it as something he'll do because he's violent and posessive and physically and emotionally stressing the hell out of his BF WHICH IS THE EXACT THING HE'S SUPPOSED TO BE SOLVING IN HIS BF'S LIFE/THE REASON THEY GOT TOGETHER IN THE FIRST PLACE, not that it was going stellar anyways. It's like your therapy dog tuns into a fucking piranha and eats you alive because you didn't *check's wrist* call you every day? Have a sex life BEFORE he met you? IDFK. And he's not bold/confident enough to call him out on it, so he just endures the little monster. I'm left with a feeling of simmering anger and nausea, similar to what side characters had expressed about the ending state of their relationship ( even though the pair themself seem happy in their pig slop ) | 5/22/25
| 8 | Bakeneko Katatte Sourou / The Cat Proposed / Orations of a Changed Cat | Bakeneko (spirit cat) x [NA] | 🍏 | BL, ROM, Furry, Fantasy, Slice of Life | 1 | A young salaryman is waffling about killing himself, but comes across a koudan performance which lifts his spirits, but for a moment he thinks he sees the orator's form slip into that of a cat's. Realizing his cover is blown, the shapeshifter cat proposes they get married, as customary, to put to rest that information of bakeneko existing coming out. They go through the motions and grow closer. | 5 | Really very sweet story, but more like chaste friendship-forming type of romance. I usually would like that, but this one does the thing where they fall in love at first sight and immediatey get married, so it's hard for me to appreciate why they like each other, even if they are generally pleasant with each other all throughout. The love interest is nice, the ML is your typical kinda pathetic fem-stand-in. I liked that they played with shapeshifting with even the ML, but i feel like they teased it and not enough happened with that, was cute though. Touching on the cat's past was nuanced and nice. Insinuations of the ML's propensity to possibly become inhuman was cool but too subtle and underutilized, since a transformation of his was teased, I felt it made more desired than what was given. Overall, I wanted something more stark or poignant about their love. It felt like a faded pastel picture of romance, you know. A vignette of easygoing slice of life romance that falls inbetween the lines. Again I ususally like that but for this I wanted more damning evidence of why they were drawn to each other besides love at first site and fate as the flimsy cardboard box their connection stands on. | 5/23/25
| 25 | Wagging the Tail | Fox v Wolf | 🍏 | BL, ROM, School, Furry | 2 | In an animal people world, a wolf just finishes fucking his teacher and gets discovered by... the cold Fox classmate? He gets quite turned on by his cold, scolding glances, and pursues him, but becomes an eager pleaser as a result, doing anything to placate and seduce this wily fox, and then they have tons of sex. | 7 | VERSE VERSE VERSE VERSE Rough start, I almost dropped this until it did a hairpin turn. FIRST OFF, this animal pair up IS FUCKING weird and it's GREAT! This wolf is funny. He starts out a bit like a delinquent dom, but actually he doesn't seen to know what he wants anyways, and changes quite readily. There really isn't any wolf typification about him - if anything, he turns quite eager and innocent, I don't feel this is a dog typification either though. I like that he can't make up his mind whether he wants to top or be topped, but when it comes to the fox, the fox sets the tune, and the fox tops. Just wild. The Fox, on the otherhand, is likewise not a typical fox. At first yes he's typed as a seductive looking pretty male, you instantly think "bottom" and yes he's even shorter. But, he's secretly holding back from meat being a vegetarian, so he's actually... Typified a bit like a Vampire??? He really likes biting the wolf and gets a little crazy about it. His lust is very similar to vampire stories. It's kinda crazy funny. Dude IS the most horny and fuck crazy and the wolf is more than happy to ragdoll for him. Rofl. The wolf tops the teach in the beginning and his buddy at the end. Another character remarks he was "changed", like people didn't like him looking dotey and soft, but at no point is he really changed, he's just what he needed to be at the time. He's still confidently power topping at the end because the situation called for it. Hilarious. Adorable. What unexpected organic characterizations of these two overwritten typically dull animal archetypes. Memorable. | 5/23/25
| 59 | Boss Bitch Baby | Fox x Boss black cat | 🍋 | BL, ROM, Crime, Royalty | 2 | A CEO's grandson is not permitted to have a gay life, so he chases down the one night stand that made him feel good, makes a contract with him to erase his debts if he lives with him as a sex servicer for 1 year. His chilly walls come down as this fox top on a leash is a hopeless romantic and is unable to separate sex from business, becoming like a stay at home husband, thawing this bitchy guy's heart. As the title suggests, he is both a Boss, a Bitch, and a Baby. A baby that can punch drywall, though. | 3 | I'm just not into CEO royalty crap and handwaved violence I got really tired towards the end of the abduction/chase crap. I guess because the best part about this series is their dynamic pretty much, so when it took a laaaaarge break to focus on family plot drama, the weakest aspect I was not reading it for, it was just. Boring. The main reason to read this is Power Bottom. I didn't feel especially moved by their relationship or anything in the plot. I know a lot of people like this one but it's forgettable to me. See, I don't even have much to say about it. The plot substance was busy water. | 5/25/25
| Sign / 수화 | Deaf guy x [NA] | 🍏 | BL, ROM, Slice of Life | 3 | Broke guy stumbles upon a Cafe and begs for work. Turns out it's managed by a Deaf guy. The deaf guy doesn't speak much but he has a low sexy voice that turns the MC on. Then, as it turns out, when the MC uses sign language, it turns this LI on. | 5 | Cute shy/quiet glasses deaf seme, forgettable uke with no defining personality traits. The sign language stuff is cute. So, so much fucking. It is in the top 90th percentile of sex variety, which is amazing. And it's all green flag and fairly down to earth! But it's just.. so much. Plot? What plot. I thought this was just a revolving door of happenstance horny sex situations. OH RIGHT, the plot.. So we have this randomly evil character.... that makes no sense. *pokes with a stick* Please do something besides fuck each other mercilessly. You have become bedbound hermits. 75 | Surviving the Game as a Barbarian | oblivious barbarian - cookie cutter hot girls | 🍏 | Action, Fantasy, Videogame/Tower/etc, Isekai, Reincarnation, """I Know the Plot"" Fuckery", Seinen, Harem | 0 | A dude transports into the obscure game he has played for 10+ years. Then gets good at everything because he knows all of it, as you might expect. Also pretty gorls but they take a backseat to VIDEOGAME | 5 | I had expected more barbarian/caveman vibes but this follows the korean videogame isekai genre to a T.There is nothing that stands out about this really. Though he insists he is unlucky, in actuality everything that happens to him is a windfall of luck and fortune, so he rises quickly. Astute readers will realize this and it's almost annoying how much the comic insists whatever has happened is special or rare. Of course it's happening to the MC. A grave sin was committed against Muscle Mommy. Unfortunately, all of these women LIs fall into the same "hot" petite woman shape but different race. It's not egregious in their characterization, fortunately, but if you are not blinded by your love for the monogynoform you will tire of the samesies. Despite that, it is funny how much this comic ABSTAINS from the MC having any dirty thoughts/actions - this one particularly holds fanservice out of reach, and always takes a 90' turn right back into fake videogame stat vomit. I feel men would be a little mad, either go all in or have a better world/plot, but it's middling at both. Still I don't mind it being bad at objectifying women too much. Reading this is reasonably engaging, due to the "style" of this webtoon to always up the Ante and make everything that happens special or add to the worldbuilding in some fake stat or lore vomit manner ( it's a technique, like the royalty webtoons ) so you always feel he is advancing and eking his wins. However on a substance level it can be quite lacking. You will not be remembering anyone for a character development moment or anything poignant said. The worldbuilding/rules/etc doesn't interest me really because you can tell things are made up as they apply to make plot progression more interesting. The monsters are also hella boring and generic. It's like they don't want you to be interested in the world like this, they are just anonymous obstacles. If I had a nickel for every reincarnated MC who had death/immortality abilities... woopededoo. Do you deserve a medal for getting that far if you've become impervious to severe harm? | 5/30/25

Very imagination-bending vignettes about horsemen and their similar but different lives, how humans interact with them. Lots of emotive notes and stylish fleeting storytelling. Expressive inking. I'm a sucker for some realism. Ryounosuke's life was rocky in a deeply closeted country but he found his place and championed a path for others to get civil partnerships. His recollection of his friends and parents and how their own lives and opinions changed over time combined with his parting notes for gay men like him is touching. There is purpose in his essay to make a better life. | 6/6/25
| 44 | Beta Off Not Dating | Alpha x Beta | 🍋 | BL, ROM, Work, OMEGAVERSE, dudes are DUDES | 1 | A Beta is noseblind to all the alpha/omega pheremone/horny business, and he frankly wants to be left out of the AO drama happening around him at work. It looks like embarrassing soaps to Betas. He doesn't want a relationship, but if he gets one at all, it's to have a quiet life with another Beta. He's afraid of a shitty relationship from watching others. However, he ends up attracting an Alpha and an Omega into developing feelings and vying for him sort of going off-script. It's not based on pheremones or heat cycles or whatever that they like him. And they have to respect that he's not going to love them in that animalistic way, despite their own programming sort of making them act goofy like that. | 7 | This was better than expected! I had a real emotion a time or two!! While the omegaverse theme is quite up front and constant, it's used as a device to illustrate the different ways people love. This goes in contrast to JUST rut stuff/instincts. It's that people can look past their differences and learn to love/appreciate how the other person works. I like a headier concept like that. And the male lead - though not deeply flawed for this - is understandable in his aversion towards dealing with alphas and omegas. He grows to love what has scared him from getting to know other kinds not like him. This male lead also functions a bit like an asexual stand-in, sort of. The betas are 3rd party witnesses to the crazy world of horny people. They feel some level of disgust or dismissiveness towards them, seeing them as nonsensical. Like other Betas, he can't smell pheromones, so he is like noseblind for their specific kind of love attraction. He also has to learn when or how he might smell like something, kind of funny mechanic, he often relies on other's judgement what he smells like. The love interest is an alpha, and surpisingly very restrained and perfect gentlemen despite his initial rocky introduction. This is probably the unhorniest and patient dom Alpha I've seen on Omegaverse. I also love that the other bestie/love prev love interest is an Alpha, but he has interests in the arts, and cried when he was overwhelmed by too many Omegas near him, they fear losing control etc. It showed a much softer side to alphas. The few Omegas had their spicy and violent sides as well. Basically, it did a lot of role expectation barrier breaking, to assert once again that the ABO system doesn't define who you are - merely colors how you experience the world. So that was pretty appreciated. I felt it could be taken an extra mile, but it did good. Surprisingly extremely low on the lust smexy thirst meter! Most touching/sex is right at the end. Most of this series is the getting to know and dating aspect. Major complaint is that there wasn't enough story of them consummately together at the end, also left out the vacation subplot it was building up to since ep 1 | 6/17/25
| 37 | Romance Not Romantic | Minty Spruce x Tangerine Honey | 🍋 | BL, ROM, Work, OMEGAVERSE | 2 | A Beta developer undergoes too much stress at work and transitions into being an Omega. Brand new to pheromone shit and trait-blockers, he keeps running into a manger-alpha guy from another department, who gets drawn into his mess and helping him calm down his Omega problems. Which predictably turns into romance. | 4 | It had an alright beginning but the stalker subplot was too long, weird, and unnerving. The alpha is a decent gentleman type, kind, but lacks a little personality or character motivation. The Omega is spunky but I don't care for the feminization of his role, as becoming an Omega seems to make him spastic, weepy, victimized, in need of help all the time. I did like that he started out quite middle of the road like he looks like a man and a lazy developer, so idk it's offputting seeing him become a fussy bitch but that's just me. up-to-date at 37. Glad the stalker plot seeems over? I don't see any new plot threads on the horizon. So it feels directionless right now. I suppose they will make up a new conflict soon. | 6/18/25
| 98 | Love Shuttle | Alpha x Alpha - passing Omega | 🍋 | BL, ROM, Work, OMEGAVERSE | 2 | An Omega never got his first heat so he grew up as quite tall and strong, until he finally got it at age 27. He became highly irregular and falls for the alpha coworker that he constantly fights with ( to the other alpha - this was alpha vs alpha machismo theatrics rivalry ). Once discovered, they have a highly contested emergency sexual relationship full of defensive lying and fisticuffs. Until they eventually learn to just lean into it. For the Omega - who is older and actually stronger, he has to be more honest and trusting. And for the younger Alpha, he has to learn when to submit and how to charm this Omega into calming the fuck down. While it's a highly irregular Alpha x Omega relationship, they both sort of come to the conclusion they hit jackpot. | 4 | God I waited until the end to write this review and I probably shouldn't have This is a decent couple, read my notes on previous cells Older masculine Omega x mid younger Alpha. There's a lot of minor role reversal going on with these couples where their looks and behavior defy expectations. I had wished for a little more out of this Omega though - he doesn't reinforce his masculinity by the end, since he turns quite soft and coquettish. I'm actually quite exhausted reading all the fucking scenes. Maybe the fucking/plot development axis skewed too far into just the fucking by the mid/end. I wanted them to do something else. I did sort of like that the final fucking scene turned into a weird punch-out just like old times. Really needed more of that. FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT The side couple was a bit creepy. An alpha that behaves like an Omega is nice / analogous to gay experimentation with an alpha, but that doctor is just a fucking creep. The epilogues had some brocon or whatever in them, I skipped all of it. By the end I just wanted the story to be over. So much fucking. Get a life. Oh yeah, also hate that in omegaverse alphas can be such rapey fiends, and authors double down on Omegas being prey basically and having it hard. I don't really appreciate the parallel to women like that. They do subvert it a bit with him strong-arming his alpha but in the end he's a victim target just like an omega. It's like a debuff just for being a "woman". There is no recourse. I just want him to snap one guy in two. Not this pheremone weakness bullshit. Whatever. I'm not cut out for omegaverse | 6/19/25
| 66 | Stranger Than Friends | Childhood friends | 🌶️ | BL, ROM | 3 | Kissing as a joke, two childhood friends start to crave it and get to mashing faces and bashing butts quite quickly. | 2 | Ehhh I don't know if I can finish it. Got to chapter 15. It feels a bit mean-spirited how much this top ignores requests and makes the bottom cry. It's not to the point of non-con, because the bottom is just folding a lot to him anyways and falling hard, but he's just kind of a jerk. | 6/20/25

It's just as a joke because himbo is suffering in his love life, but the nerd was so mad at being dragged out that he made a wish about going home and playing videogames that got misconstrued and became true - that he became tied with a red string of fate to his friend, and it became a supernatural phone game that they must do activities that bring them closer or otherwise face penalties. | 7 | This BIZARRE crazy himbo athlete bottom is a show-stealer! Impuslive, incorrigible, 1 brain cell beacon of idiotic light. The way in which he's drawn as a scribble when he says something devoid of all reason is comedy gold. The top is less memorable, typical serious tempermental catty younger seme. But he often ends up breaking and crying over the uke's unserious answers to everything. The plot itself ( ever-scaling love challenges a la supernatural phone game ) is not something I find very compelling. I prefer when people just get closer on their own. Least fav thing is seme's dick being so comically huge as to break immersion EVEN if you're used to BL having ridiculously huge dicks. The main reason to read this is for the wacky as fuck uke. Buff idiot. Amazing. No regrets wants to see what riding dick is like. Fearless. Laughs off everything. I have never screenshotted a bottom so much. He got that dog in him, and at certain points he ends up resembling an unhinged top glowering over his disturbed seme. | 6/21/25
| 80 | Love Tractor | age gap (20 and 27) | Farmer Himbo [BEAR] x Cityboy Pianist [CAT] | 🍏 | BL, ROM, Slice of Life, Age gap | 0 | A 27 year old composer was forced into the Lawyer track by his strict father over his gay relationship. The stress of being something he doesn't want to be and watching his boyfriend fluorish causes him to slowly self destruct, so his mother sends him away to the countryside to help his grandpa. There he meets a young local farmer himbo, 20, who becomes quite enamored with him but is sort of in over his head trying to court an older more experienced man. But he brings a certain down to earth comfort that makes Yool breathe easier. | 2 | PEOPLE WON'T SHUTUP ABOUT THIS so decided to try it. I'm not really into this age-gap pairing, maybe because I'm older and I remember when I was 27 and a 20 year old is pretty uck developmentally. And the author does a good job highlighting Chan's naivety vs Yool's jadedness. However the characters themselves aren't bad or anything; they are well defined and don't by themselves lend any yuck to it. I'm also just not into such a puppy of a young himbo. Idk. Painfully naive IMO. I like the above himbo ^ much better - the stupidity belies something hidden and devilishly rascally. Chan here is just a too-sweet cake. But he is obviously the greater focus of this series. It's story-driven, which is a nice change of pace. And they aren't in love with each other right away, which is great! I'm not feeling the public opinion though. It's okay. I like reading a story for once. Maybe that's what it is - a dearth of narratives makes these stand out. // opinion at 40/80 wow yeah.. this is hard with Chan's characterization // 57/80 I think I'm dropping. Chan is such an over-the-top flat character, and he's so infantalized. I don't see it as being much different than your typical whiny fluffy uke. It's just in the guise of a big guy. He's so annoying. OBNOXIOUS. And Yool is fed up with him half the time too. I just can't get into this pairing. It sucks. Though I don't find the series bad or anything in quality. I just yuck this pairing. I'm starting to become angry having to read another chapter where Chan is a whiny fucknut about whatever he wants and Yoon is putting up with it. He just spit in Yool's face and that's supposed to be classic Chan comedy or something. God. I wouldn't mind this so much if Chan was a more 3-dimensional character. 20 year olds are NOT this fucking stupid. They may be underexperienced but they're not a literal baby in personality and I would think he would feel more pressure to act more upright for an older guy which would be the kind of tension/conflict I would prefer to see. IDK it'd probably be bad either way. | 6/22/25
| 21 | After A Meal | age gap (18? and 25) | [NA] Older Human x Half-Vampire | 🍏 | BL, ROM, Age gap | 0 | A half-vampire high school student shacks up with a guy he recognizes in exchange for cooking him food and general house work. This guy is a poor loan shark with a grumpy attitude, but it turns out this vampire's faint "charm point" is the food he cooks, which ends up making this negative nelly go a bit soft and consider this kid's requests. However, he is pragmatic and doesn't feel an ounce of affection for this kid; if anything, it comes out as a broad gentle protectiveness. The kid however is quite romantically smitten, and desperately wants a sip. "but ya cant have any" etc. | 6 | It's cute. I'm not into the age gap but it's handled really well - hyung does NOT give in, so he's more like a standoffish protective friend. And there is a LOT of advances by this kid, but hyung holds rock-steady unaffected. That makes this series "unproblematic", but in another regard, that also means this series plods along one-sided with a lot of nothing happening. In that regard, it could actually be quite good about building "friendship" first, but this series doesn't really do that well. This kid just sort of manifests love for him out of nowhere and throws himself at him. It's hard for me to respect. I need reasons. I need moments that make them connect: problematic or not. The foundation for a massive unrequited love is not really there. Tha vampire theme is cool but dangles in the balance - 20+ chapters in and not a single person has gotten bitten or wrestled with for a nip. It has been treated quite low-key and casually. The two characters are cute designs/situations, so pairing is more memorable than average. | 6/28/25
| 15 | Melting Point | former classmates | Hockey athlete x Marketing Guy ex-athlete | 🌶️ | BL, ROM, Work, Noncon | 2 | Marketing firm guy runs into his old ex-hockey player classmate whom he hates but is now roped into doing the brand marketing contract stuff with him. He's a jerkass but apparently said jerkass has had a crush on him since forever but he shows it in a stupid posessive jerkass way which caused them to be enemies. Now he's advancing on him, but marketing bro is such an idiot he keeps interpretting all these sexual advances as just a form of hazing or revenge or something. | 3 | He only put his mouth on my crotch, grinded my ass, and jerked me off, all without my permission, what on earth could he possibly want with me! IT'S A MYSTERY. It's not like he likes me or anything. He's just a fuckin weird mean guy and this is his way of hating me! Or something. But now I'm addicted to asking him for hugs for some reason??? There's really no rhyme or reason... The attraction here... is kind of weird... I don't appreciate ... How femmed up this previous-athlete turned marketing guy is, because Athlete Man keeps insisting he was pro but he looks nowhere near like a mountain that he does. You gotta be kidding me. He 100% looks like male wife. So athlete is kind of an asshole and he acts like he can't control his urges, literally, he confesses that. Though it is kind of funny because he is like huffing shirts and he lonely faps a bit and backs off or whatever. Someone in the comments said "TOP LOSER" despite the fact that he's a superstar. I guess that fits. Doesn't change the fact that he's nonconny. Every sexual interaction so far is approached without consent, and he considered raping marketing bro while he was passed out drunk, until someone interrupted him. So you won't hear me making excuses for him. Kind of annoying how marketing guy willingly turns a blind eye to his epic creep behavior.
| 82 | Radio Storm | Soldier x Magic Ability guy | 🌶️ | BL, ROM, Action, Science Fiction | 2 | In a war-torn future, a young man goes to an academy for people with special abilities [CORES] in order to be tested for their war-worthiness. Sak's is rather useless, but during a pandemic, he is sent outside the academy to find his [CALLER], aka the person that is the giver of his magical energy. If the [CALLER] dies from the plague, he will too due to their tethered nature. However, his abilities also amplify the closer he is to his [CALLER]. Unfortunately the supersensory "attraction" is a one-way street, so when he meets his caller, he's met with animosity and disbelief. *ends up being a zombie pandemic sort of plot | 3 | The [CALLER] is kind of hot but a menace. the [CORE] Sak is kind of a baby betch meh. Engrossing story but in artifice; the world building is interesting at first but becomes more threadbare the harder you look and the more random details they add on. Like they feel like an afterthought just to increase tension randomly. Their journey together is nice but kind of too drawn out and strained for my liking. I liked the world-building until it became pretty simply about virus zombies. And the rest of those arbitrary tragic-love increasing rules. There is a clear "evil" character/org that makes me yawn. It's kind of odd how everyone is fucking hot in this wartorn world lol. How am I supposed to believe the themes of war, hardship and poverty when everyone looks like a magazine cover model. Not even 1 ahjussi old fuck in the background! Not a ONE! You need ugly fucks to make the pretty fucks stand out. Also for dire consequence and horror stories it's just better. Reason to read: slightly unique, detailed setting for a BL. If you like grimdark dystopian themes and tragic love situations, trauma, cruelty. Simple good and bad a la science fiction. No deep thinking here just emo sci fi.
| 34 | Nerd Project | estranged politician's son [NERD] x Actor | 🍋 | BL, ROM, dudes are DUDES, College, Str8 2 GeY Pipeline | 1 | Luke's girlfriend begins pressuring Luke to change his image to that of a nerd to turn her on. Clueless Luke figures out it's because she's become obsessed with another man, Andrew, whom Luke believes she is seeing. Enraged, Luke follows Andrew, til he finds the evidence of infidelity he is looking for, and then they have a blowout breakup where Luke can't live at her apt anymore and gets placed in the dorms to - who else - but Andrew, which creates a volatile mix that eventually subsides as they get to know each other. Andrew is actually gay, but Luke is not; yet. | 7 | Wow, Dudes are Dudes? Converting the straight guy? These 2 are reasonably memorable. The best thing about this series is the kissing - as some commenters said, it's somehow better than some other series' sex scenes. Don't usually see a high quality mack-fest, and that makes sense for these two because Luke is straight questioning, but kissing he is slowly coming around for. I don't like Andrew's character very much. He has been an unforgiving ass at times, and I feel the author makes you uneasy with his intellect, size, and willingness to play mean and split hairs. His background is a bit sordid but it doesn't make me like him more; I sort of feel he's creepy but I'm okay with the relationship nonetheless. Luke on the other hand is very agreeable. Cute but still masculine, and a healthy regard for loving others and personal justices. Charming but still human. A drama major? Gay? Unbelievable. It was only a matter of time, so idk why he would be so embarrassed about it. Nobody would care. Most unbelievable aspect: Luke not knowing a single thing about his state senator's son scandal since it involved pretty high profile issue that cost him the election. Even the idiots of the idiots in my state have an opinion or a dirt on their state senator. | 6/29/25
| 75 | Frenemies | orphan x young master | 🌶️ | BL, ROM, Historical/Biographical, Fantasy, Action | 1 | Young master's father took in an orphan which became the ML's rival and only friend. They bristled at each other's presence and fought constantly, until in teenagerhood they accidentally began having sexual relations. Upon destruction of the temple, 10 years pass, where they are reunited, but it seems, as true war enemies. | 2 | Meh. The pacing is brisk and lacks emotional punch. I don't care for historical fantasy. This world isn't explained very well. For example, they just practice regular swordfighting for 20+ chapters, but then out of nowhere it follows that they develop magic techniques from it.But this magic seems very surface-y like they gave these moves names but don't tell at all what they do, if they are significant, or how the magic system works. So just sounds like shounen shouting gobbledegook with glamour effects. Ergo I don't care. I think this is because the Martial Arts genre techniques over there is so common it's probably like explaining the rules of vampirism here, but doesn't change my outlook that it's puddle-deep. Their relationship annoys me. His friend always acts like he has the upperhand, toying with the ML, to the point where it's hard not to see the ML ( with long flowing brunette hair ) as a token FL with an asshole tease-happy alpha boyfriend. Because that's hot or something. Dropping at 26. The massive miscommunication-therefore-we-must-war thing is too paperthin stupid for me to get into.
| 15 | My Dearest Cop | age gap ~ 10 years 29 & 39 | younger cop serious seme x retired cop goofy guy | 🍏 | BL, ROM, dudes are DUDES, Slice of Life, Work, Friendship, Age gap | 1 | Retired cop Seiji used to look out for a local delinquent. Now retired and running a local shop, the delinquent grew up and also became a cop. A flippant remark by Seiji "maybe I should try men" after being single for a long time, causes younger cop to box him in and kiss him, and beg that he and only he be the one that gets that privelege. Thus starts an unlikely but pleasant romance between a former mentor-like character and the grown-up delinquent that covertly looked up to him a great deal. | 7 | An adorable, easygoing pace of 2 older men falling into a relationship. It is funny that the older man is the less reliable chipper goofy bottom, I like him. The seme is a bit too typical hardnose seme for me, but they go together alright. The frequent references to the older guy being tired or too old for that made me a bit depressed sometimes. You know the younger guy will never get "more" energy or enthusiasm from him than he does right now. It's sweet but I don't like thinking about age much like that. I like that he has accepted where his life is going and a young bf is an unexpected kick in the butt but yeah. | 7/1/25
| 41 | Kimi ni wa Todokanai / I Cannot Reach You | childhood friends | 🍏 | BL, ROM, School, Slice of Life, Friendship | 0 | One childhood friend has had a crush on the other since forever, but decided to suffer in silence and simply enjoy being by his side. In high school, as push comes to shove and they begin experimenting with dating girls, Yamato becomes so miserable at the thought of Kakeru dating other girls he finally starts expressing himself bit by bit. Kakeru is a scatterbrained clueless idiot about it though, but decides to try and adjust because he realizes he also deeply values the friendship, and hasn't felt explicitly opposed to Yamato's affections, just surprised. | 4 | Cute couple, but the slowburn gets a bit too slow. Seme is great, obviously the focus target of the series. Introverted, smart, mature. Uke is joe schmo design, nervous, unconfident, social butterfly. The number of times the series does the perfectly timed interruption is pretty annoying after awhile. The uke's anxious breakdown antics over the tiniest bit of doki doki also get quite old. Series does long flashbacks in the middle to justify the seme's feelings for uke, my theory is author started to feel it was a bit unbelievable mr. popular perfect likes anxious idiot. Uke started feeling too fem-insert, he only gets this anxious way once they're pseudo dating and it's really annoying, he was fine before. The anecdote about Seme's sister's incest thoughts could have just been deleted, like what was the point of that. I liked it over all but gets lower rating for predictability, feet dragging, cartoonish uke behavior that started to make them all feel more 2D. pretty art. EDIT: Finished. Lowering from 6 to a 4. Unfulfilling ending IMO. They were interrupted to the end. I had such a hard time finishing this because the stupid uke couldn't get beyond his jitters and the expertly timed interruptions were too perfectly placed every time and it's just not funny. It's groanworthy. This is probably good for high schoolers since they are believably skittish, stupid and slow about everything, but I don't find it a fulfilling rom at all. This freaking uke. All the way to the end they keep harping about how he's no match for this perfect as fuck seme, just so stupid. That should have resolved at some point where it just stops coming up and they own whatever they are. Or give the uke his redeeming quality. Gah. So stupid. So fem coded, I'm nauseous, I can't related to this kind of abysmally anxious spineless fem-insert type character. GTFO. | 7/7/25
| 39 | Dangerous Convenience Store | indeterminate age gap | older gang man / college student | 🍋 | BL, ROM, Age gap, Str8 2 GeY Pipeline | 3 | College student who works at a convenience store in the bad part of town is dealing with a bunch of life problems like his messy crush, his brother in the hospital, his dead parents, etc. But then gets into a relationship with a nice gang Ahjussi who comes in to buy cigs and booze. Ahjussi is only now discovering he has gay feelings looking forward to his conbini visits. | 2 | People won't shut up about this one. Does it hold up to popular scrutiny? Not in my opinion. "It's too heteronormative" is the weird thought I kept having as I was reading. It's the tropes I am tired of - and extremely feminine, weepy bottom with a small dick and 800 life problems got him by the throat, and in comes a billboard-sized stoic badboy with a comically ginormous dick and a sexual appetite to match. It just feeds into old tired polarized dynamics. The one reason I can tell people really like this for - is that Ahjussi is a gentleman. Sort of. He's still not taking no for an answer easy, but he's relenting to the kid's opinion and being civil about things. Though all the focus is on Ahjussi as the eye candy / point of the story; This kid brings nothing to the table besides predefined genre tropes so he can be cardboard as far as I'm concerned. I thought it was quite amusing when you see kid with his college friends - they are actually more memorable and dynamically designed - where he is blank slate with a generic short haircut and T-shirt, he is nothing but a cute crying face, even compared to his friends XD I guess I am old but I want "gay" writing that makes more sense. This just felt like a shoddy old-hat BL situation thrown together a la shallow writing. They're even next-door neighbors??? Oh my, what were the chances. I guess we've only progressed so far as to experiment with big bad semes being kind. Earthshattering. hated it the more I contined: dropping THIS IS FOR EXTREMELY STRAIGHT THIRSTY WOMEN NOTHING GAY ABOUT THIS | 7/22/25
| 13 | Bad Apple | TOP X TOP | CEO top! ~ Secret agent top! | 💥 | BL, ROM, dudes are DUDES, Action, Suspense, Funny, Role Reversal | 0.5 | An undercover agent has to get scoop on a media company CEO who doesn't show his face in public. Humiliated on his first encounter when Loren strips him, ignores him and calls him a useless slut, Petty and headstrong Rian seeks revenge on this pretty boy CEO by vowing he'll get the better of him - he succeeds, humiliating him with a kiss, and taunts him how the cock on his slut lips taste. Which kicks off a deadly game of cat and mouse, or spy vs spy, as Loren calculates how to get back at him, and succeeds... What Rian doesn't quite understand, however, is how batshit insane Loren is - once he DOES actually decide to give chase. This clever playboy secret agent is now up against a sadistic trigger-happy calm psycho that now, finally, wants to play with him. Rian is determined to top this uptight brat, but well, Loren has a gun, and henchman, and probably a lot of sick perv ideas, seeing as how he runs a shadow company anyways with ruthless abandon including murdering outsteppers or anyone in his way. | 8 | HHHHOLY SHIT this is crazy and FUNNY!!!! The setup writing and pacing so far (13) IS GREAT TOP X TOP!!! They are clearly struggling for top bunk in the realm of their psyche! They're both clever!!! Very Spy vs Spy if they were a BL. The will to humiliate each other with affection is pretty great. Both characters are well defined and show-stealers. I have a feeling - like everyone else - that CEO might take the top spot due to sheer resources and next-level psycho-willpower. However, I was surprised the moments Rian got the better of him, he does seem to pause and falter a bit and marvel at his moxie. Loren seems to enjoy that someone is not so afraid of him and willing to match his assholery. I want to emphasize that Loren is not the typical CEO Boss archetype - he's slight and pretty, but taller than Rian, and his pretty-ness clashes with his calm extreme uses of violence, and immediately takes control of every situation he's in using fear, force and intimidation. He also emotes frequently in a calm indifferent sort of way. He's kind of like a beautiful Satan archetype - Where Rian is almost like a 80s or 90s buff cop playboy, reminds me of like a Banana Fish's Lynx if he was way more affable but just as lowly and clever. So far this is not a lop-sided power struggle, so I'm here for it! I may lose interest if it goes that route, though. I don't want to see Rian put into an entire kneel. I've never been so entertained by a red-flag pair! | 7/23/25
| 5 | His Romance of 500 Years | the summer hikaru died but with robots and no horror and implausibly large timeskips | android LI x Human | 🍋 | BL, ROM, Science Fiction | 0 | Gay kids become lovers but one dies in a train accident and the other, facing abuse from harsh parents w/ nowhere to go, offs himself. He wakes up 250 years later with a surrogate boyfriend android in the image of his lover, a medical fortune made possible by his parents as their parting wish for his happiness. However, MC has trouble accepting this imperfect doppleganger android as a suitable replacement for his memories of the real bf Hikaru. Until he loves the mistakes and differences and accepts him as a different person. | 6 | It was a little feelsy, the feeling of the passage of time and subtleties was decently nice. It felt a little too quick. It left out a lot of displays of romance that'd make me believe his change of heart and there was not a lot to cheer in the romantic regard by the final reunite sequence. It's unclear how their romance progresses, I'm cool with fill-in-the-blank but it felt like too chopped off of an ending where I think the hundreds of years of yearning should have a bit slicier of a payoff. I like the concept but not as much the execution. I'm also not a fan of this particular style of manga humans, a little wonky. | 08/05/2025
| 6 | VOID | Human x Android | 🌶️ | BL, ROM, Science Fiction | 2 | Rich guy is offered a sex android who is a copy of his unrequited dead lover. At first he abuses the fuck out of him, but then falls in love for him, and becomes troubled over the morality of the imprinting, wanting to be loved genuinely unlike his dead lover. | 4 | Not into hatefucking. Not into tearful femmy ukes that forgive everything. Not into true love blossoming from abuse situation. Not into stockholm programmed love. It does make it a moody piece about romance but because it starts on that abuse foot I don't buy into the brisk change of pace to romance and real love. Mood-wise it's decent I'm just reading inbetween the lines and in reality this would be terrible. I'm giving it a pepper because although they're very settled and in love, I don't see this as a balanced good situation on paper, and it did have abuse the uke didn't deserve but sure did absorb with gusto. | 08/05/2025
| 90 | Murderous Lewellyn's Candlelit Dinner | Dog coded Murderer xv [NA] Poor writer | 🌶️ | BL, ROM, Historical/Biographical, Suspense, Horror, Crime | 1 | Poor writer lives nextdoor to an eccentric who pesters him with selfish questions and comments. Upon relenting to having "dinner" with him, he discovers a corpse in a closed room. He is therafter haunted by the idea that he live next door to the source of all the local murders, and that guy is toying with him socially for fun. But this eternally destitute wretch finds gentleness in his neighbor's psychopathy. A kind of unsettling, selfish caring. This is then embellished upon by a ton of backstory making this a more than likely meeting. AKA the author figured it out later how they were going to throw plot at this creepy meetcute. | 5 | Sigh. People will not shut up about this one. It's okay. Based on a light novel, it becomes apparent the title of this story is derived from the initial neighbor relationship they have, but that the author figured out the plot much later after establishing this horror-meetcute. The later embellishments involve a lot of flashback backstory to make them fated, which, is actually more interesting than the present timeline, funnily enough. But I don't appreciate plots involving amnesia to make plots work. Also, it got a little old how much the series harped on the MC's destitute nature. The MC comes from an orphanage, claims he has no talents and is close to the brink of homelessness and dying multiple times - but he's a struggling writer? He handwaves that he can't do menial labor because he doesn't have the muscle - but it's not like you CAN'T do labor if you're only 5'8 or something, you just.. Do it, and the muscle comes. So I was put off by his woe-is-me destitute rehearsing when he could just work a regular job if he literally needs to eat. There doesn't appear to be anything stopping him. I know it's not aspirational but there are methods to get bread. Also Llewelyn's personality changes quite a bit in the story, I can tell the plot was constructed later because it didn't make a whole lot of sense the way he treated the MC in the beginning vs the end. There is also extremely little information on Llewelyn's purpose as a military subject - or why his dehumanization was necessary. He's a secret weapon??? What, exactly, does he do. He pretty much just bites people but this world has firearms, what's that supposed to do? Why does torturing something make you think it WON'T go unstable. He becomes a good assassin but then they should have just trained him for that - and being a "dog" is the wrong way to train someone to become a human that holds weapons to assassinate??? Pros - The two characters Llewelyn and Shavonne are pretty memorable and decently characterized. There is more plot than the average BL. If you want an eccentric threatening murderer to get remodeled into the fluffiest green-flag boy, this might be your bag? Cons - This 1800s world is populated by selfish assholes, it's very bleak. Anyone would sell out their mother, but it's not very well defined what the economy is like - what, exactly, is this world doing to people - there was a mention of a war but no detail. The flashbacks and flashforwards kind of meld together and get a bit confusing. The pair, but moreso the MC Shavonne is doomed with an unnecessary amount of world conspiring to make him miserable, almost laughably so. | 08/06/2025
| 91 | On or Off | Ahjussi Marketing Director x College kid Startup CEO | 🍋 | BL, ROM, Age gap, Work, Funny | 2 | A college startup group enters a contest to have their app be picked up by a local large company. They choose their only extrovert to lead the presentation, unfortunately, his computer craps out and the presentation is a bust. Feeling his friends are counting on him, he snoops around and manages to bed the director who was in a bad mood and made an offer he'd regret (sex) as a lil quid pro quo jerkaround. Upon reviewing the presentation files, though, he comes to the immediate conclusion this kid's group won the contest. The group become business partners and move into an office within the company. The two can't stop hanging onto the feeling that despite the circumstances, they really liked bedding each other, and keep pursuing the other, but have to keep it on the down-lo due to questionable business practices. Despite his initial introduction, the Director is extremely principaled and actually thoughtful. He takes the MC under his wing puffing him up how to really be a CEO/director. | 8 | Holy shit the girls are actually people The MC's all-girl team are all characters-they remind me of Eizouken. CHARACTERS!!!!!! so good! They actually feel like people at a company!!! I have reservations about this kind of age-gap pairing. I don't like it on paper. There is typically too big of a power gradient. However, this comic does really well to dismantle that power gradient. This director is fairly principled and gentle, and takes the opportunities to teach the kid how to be a CEO and demand respect and attention. Like he's putting value INTO him, not robbing him of his dignity or taking advantage. Pros - AMAZING charactarization. The young characters act so much like college kids, the office workers act so much like adults. It's astounding how well this is pulled off. Also a great many female characters in this BL, I think they actually outnumber the males. The most realistic office setting, not boring it just feels slick how realistic it is without being a bore. Delightfully progressing writing, each chapter feels rich and gets somewhere. A lot of focus is put on this Uke as being a hidden gem - and he is, he outshines the Seme in my opinion. They do good work showing him having a multitude of sides, silver-tongued businessman or doormat ditz. Naive college kid or the savviest person in the room. Public-speaking icon or blushing bitch. I like that everyone has a clear archetype, including him - he's good at THESE things - while his teammates, such as Mina, are viciously calculating and booksmart, he is not, he is an organizer and people coordinator. Cons - age-gap is a little hmm I'm uncomfortable regardless seeing a 38-year old gorilla plough a skinny 23 year old. I agree with person I got it req'd from, it is THE office romance to read, despite it not sounding great on paper. I would like to see a timeskip to where the Uke is a more capable adult CEO so it doesn't feel so experience level mismatched. | 08/07/2025
| 110 | I Ship My Rival x Me | chinese | Actor [Dog] x Actor [Cat] | 🍏 | BL, ROM, Str8 2 GeY Pipeline, Friendship, Work | 1 | Two actors getting tangled up in their ship discourse. They were considered rivals due to similar age/experience but that 'career rivalry' also caused them to become a niche ship and then one of them accidentally got invested in his own ship. Their actual interactions are basic/amicable/positive and fall into 'like' with each other rather easily. they dally about how to/how not to bait the fans. | 7 | This is a really great fluffy ride where both parties are into each other from the start. The interjection of the fanshippers is humerous 3rd wheel consideration. The characters are well defined, designed, and fun to watch. Likeable. Cons - Abrupt ending. Unsatisfying. There were a lot of story threads unresolved. That's why I knocked from an 8 to a 7. Chinese - the love scenes are super choppy and mostly skipped over, and you're left with the characters alluding to things they did that you can't really fathom well/no sense of the time and actions that have passed. Yay China. They have good synergy you just can't see them at peak affection. There's a laughable duel for dominance and I didn't like how YanYan concedes he lost and he can handle the pain like it's his place i guess because he's taken a beating all his life so why not here too. Kind of a weird defeatist take on what it means to be a sub. He's cool with it I'm not ( the way he said it, not that he's the sub ). I was really waiting for YanYan's big career break, it felt like it was dangled for us, as well as any change to Gilang's or whatever. But no major changes happened. I don't mind the lack of hard conflicts (it's a delightful green flag rom), I do mind that plot threads get dropped or don't change something somewhere. Still, I found this a really great read, so idk. | 08/09/2025
